Please can...

Post by tango4262 »

If i may ask very kindly, can users wishing to download large files such as the new RSUpgrade please please please fork out for Premium,

Im trying to download nothing more humble than a FCC 365 and...

Server Status
Your download is in queue position 35 of 69
There are 5 concurrent downloads out of 5 maximum.
Each user has approximately 5.00 k/s available to them.

Running Queue
There are approximately 71,908.00 Kb left to be downloaded from current downloads.
The next download to finish has approximately 1,345.00 Kb remaining.

Waiting Queue

The queue currently contains 702,394.00 Kb of files. :o

So I can geuss very strongly at least a few of you in this queue are downloading the RSupgrade given when it was uploaded, the amount of downloads, the extreme number of kb's

Im not having a moan before anyone has a fit at me Its just annoying waiting hours to download one EMU

yes maybe I'll topup my membership when something big comes along, but i have'nt downloaded from here in a while and all im trying to get is an emu but some people dont seem to realise there effevtivly sticking cement into a pipe.

Thank you for your time

You can't complain for a service you're not paying for, just the way it is...

Members are free to download whatever they want from the site regardless of whether they hold premium or non-premium membership.

In the case of the RS patch I do wonder why a non-premium member would choose to get it from here when the non-premium downloads are speed limited. Downloading from one of the other mirrors listed on the RSDL website would probably be a lot faster. However, that is their choice.
Kindest regards

I also question the merits of non-premium downloading of this patch from UKTS, with a large wait, over RSDL's site or the other mirrors.

That is why i was saying i wasnt moaning i was just asking in hope that there would be a few generous people who might stumble across this thread and realise that they might be causing monumental queues.

Seems to have sped up a bit now anyway just about to download :)

An idea for the site as a whole, could people provide alternative download points which say kick in for non-premium downloaders?

I agree that sounds like a brilliant idea if it can be achieved :)

It cost a lot of money to host a site as big as this.
Premium pays for it.

If people upload to other free sites this site loses money, premium charges go up and free downloads come to an end.

So I will continue to upload exclusively to this site unless my uploads are suitable for foreign sites.

Nothing is free but for what you get, this site is a bargain.

Premium is very cheap - £3 a month, and buy a ccd and get another month or so!

I'm premium, and im pleased!
