Nothing particularly concerning in that tracert either, the international link is taking around 30-40ms to do the hop which is about right I think.

Assuming those two files are downloading together that looks like about 600k/s in total - what speed is your link?

This speed thing depends on how old your phoneline is and how far you are from the phone exchange i think

Wow Doug...thats a big difference....something not quite right about the tests from that site maybe?.

As a Ps.... I'm now getting 500kb/s from Europe site....but sitill only getting 110kb/s from UKTS.
Normally after 0100 hrs it will finish at 700 kb/s europe 350 kb/s UKTS.

BT won't do anything to improve DSL speeds on a phone line - if you ask them to change it they'll likely just unplug it and plug it in to a different slot - and any problem is probably the line itself, which is expensive to fix.

I can't get a usable DSL connection here in E11. Best I can get is an occasional 512k but most of the time it's dead. All BT will do is uninstall it and say "too bad, can't even get ISDN over that line, wow thats bad, see ya later".

DSL is certainly very hit and miss - my current ADSL connection is supposed to be 24mb :) If i'm lucky it trains up for a couple of minutes at 512k :)
