Screenshot suggestion

Post by brownairwolf »

I know its already catered for by being able to put thumbnails in posts on forums, but I wondered if it is possible to have (like in outlook) right click to downloads images, say for each post, not each topic?

I think Nick is asking for all threads to download with out pictures and for each post in the thread to right-click and get the pictures downloaded. Presumably this would help his bandwidth / thread loading speed ?

Windows XP with Office 2003 has that functionality but that is with Outlook rather than in a browser window.

This is already possible in IE and Firefox.

Kindest regards

There is an option in IE to not download images...

Tools > Options > Advanced ... Untick the box in Multimedia > Show Pictures.

That will just show a placeholder for the image and the user has to right click and select 'Show Picture' to display that image. Wouldn't work very weel (IMHO) in the forums though based on how many images phpBB loads.

That said, if everyone used the thumblink option to post images we wouldn't have a problem.

Cheers, yeah Jon has it right, my bandwidth is not a problem really.

Just had the idea when waiting for all the screenshots in multiple posts on one topic to load, even on 1mb :)
