I've spent a great deal of time this week answering queries arising from my posts which contain my own very serious concerns and clarifying those which were vague. A fair while answering JB. I never once accused anyone of picking on me and replied politely. That's a positive attitude.

If I see a post with a phrase which I don't understand, I'm entitled to ask what it means. This is a open forum. I've was taught a polite question deserves a polite response and not personal abuse.

John, that depends on how the recipient took the initial repose, if I took offence then l'm entitled to reply in kind, in any case of bullying or harrasment ( and l have witnessed a few ), its not what the antagonist said or did it is what the defendant perceived. Not inferriing either of the above merely pointing out that it is the recipient who is innocent.

I'm sorry if you took offence

I have concluded that what ever l write you will turn, mis understand or get upset over, no matter how it is written, therefore l shall in future refrain from answering your queries, that way there can be no misunderstandings at all between either of us.

If that means that you will remain uninformed then l apologise, l no longer wish to run the risk of offending you, getting into arguments et al.

It is a free forum for free speech, as such l'm invoking my right to remain silent with regards your questions.

Sincere regards

Michael

SInce being a member the trainsim community has been a blessing and an eye opener for a newcomer who loves trainsims. Matt and his team and all the member have worked together fairly and honestly. The routes I have brought have been brill, esp Bala4 gordon is brill.Dorset coast has opened up a whole southern feel. L to B and the add on's were ok but do not try to recreate exact southern region area. Many details are wrong or missing. The professional seems to not as good as the amateurs.

We all should support the community, and be free to have an oppinion.we do live in a free democratic society.

Hi Richard
Welcome to the forums. :P
Of course everyone is entitled to their own opinions.
I must point out though that there hasn't been a UK professional route released for quite a while, so a direct comparison is not as easy as you may think.
You mention L2B, when that was released over 3 years ago....it was one of the top routes.
Luckily for us the standard of modelling has moved on.
You mention Bala Hub,by Gordon MacKenzie, one of my all time favourites.
You might be interested to know, he is currently the route author for the Enterprise route by MakingTracks.
Cheers

That's because amateurs don't face the same commercial pressures to release as professionals do. they can afford to take the time to make sure the valve gear is exactly right, for example. (Hypothetical)

There's a close parallel between a Bachmann model loco and a hand built O guage loco - the handbuilt job does not suffer as much from manfacturing demands, the need for componentisation - or the need to be released in time for christmas.

This polarisation is actually a very good thing - and strengthens the need for UKTS to remain in place - otherwise the entire community would be at the beck and call of a small group of commercial organisations.
