I think Petes put down there what I was trying to say and his comments are valid, clear and correct.

It isn't applied automatically, solely if we choose to (though if a message requires editing we tend to use it anyway!).

Thanks for the clarification, still feel its a whole lot of guff being made about a reasonably minor issue.
But its only my opinion.

Buffy[quote Moderator Comment: allypally - you'll probably get a more appreciative audience in here Martin ] yeah I got that bit, it was the EDIT bit in bold red letters, that suggest to your average Joe and not a Mod or an ex Mod that the original post has been edited in some way.
Stems from this Mod not having the relevant experience in modding to Mod effectivley and correctly.
Like I stated in a previous post you don't have to agree with me, but I think jp4712 has taken a better course of action, ie easing himself into the role of Mod and not taking a running jump headlong at it.....

How about thinking about it like this. I can't, and won't please everybody. Im a new mod. Im still learning the ropes here. I can take criticism. However, im also thinking that that is rather unfair. My age is irrelevant in this matter. Its more about whether I should use the Moderator macro when moving posts, and if the consensus is I shouldn't, then fine, I won't. it hardly affects anything else I do. These are the first complaints I have had over my moderation, but I have received several 'Well Done's', 'Thank-you's' etc. I don't care if you dislike me, or even hate me. It's an online community, and as such doesn't affect my day to day life. I did leave a shadow topic actually, but as I was rather unsure of what happens in such situations-I haven't seen shadows when the topics were moved by other mods, for example, so I decided not to leave one. I dont type that Moderation message. When the correct tag is entered, it pops up. I was aware I would gain some enemies because of my age, but I don't reallymind in the slightest.

Also, Peter and Simon, I have a question for you. If this was a question on an individual action by myself, why wasn't I pm'd about it first, as is standard procedure for questioning a moderating action. I could then have fixed what you believe to be wrong. It's obviously a problem with me, between what appears to be two people. So why not just pm me to make your feelings known?

Age, and hate, mmmmm never mentioned those words once!
Your last post speaks of your in-experience so why not consult with others with more experience on correct protocol when moving topics.
It really ticks me off when you get a Mod trotting out the old cliche "I don't care if you dislike me, or even hate me. It's an online community, and as such doesn't affect my day to day life" hate never entered my mind or I'm sure Peters or LucaZones, its just wanting to see things done correctly and with a bit of understanding applied instead of over-zeal and overkill.
I don't even know how old you are and couldn't really give a stuff.
Simon.

The age was aimed at Peter. Im 15, which Peter knows. Also, I mean it. Ive been here long enough, I sense ill have left within the next 18 months, and ill wind up what I will freely admit has been a great part of my life. However, I dont see how what can be seen as an error on moving posts can be blown out of proportions like that, especially such a thing as a post being moved from the open forum. Also, can we bring this out of this thread now, and discuss it privately over MSN or something? Im more than happy, and being able to talk in real time generally helps..

lol, John, WTF? hahaha!

Alex, do not get me wrong. If you read my first post, it is just an asking post. I was not too sure about this, so I wanted to ask at the top. In a way, I am a bit sad other Moderators have not stepped in to give their opinion, but then I do see why.

I knew you were young, but not the exact age.
I have been on a board once where ALL the Moderators were under 15 and, well, the board members ended up moving to one I set up for them, with different Moderators, the community is much happier - this is where I think age does come into it.

I do not hate anyone or anything.
Read the first post again, there is nothing saying that I am getting at you. If it had been another moderator, I would have left the same message again.

Being honest, this turned out to be bigger than I thought it would be.

To ThamesClyde and the rest of you who are complaining.

If you have a problem with allypally's actions, then take your complaint to Matt. Otherwise, buzz off and take your moaning elsewhere, because we don't want to hear it! I mean, give the guy a break! What is the problem exactly?!? He edited a post to say it was moved. So what? Is it effecting you in any way? Will your life be incomplete if allypally doesn't do things exactly the way you like it? Well tough. It's him who's the moderator, so you should respect his actions and move on. Anyway, I'd like to see you do any better!

In reply to Mattaff and JonathanAG, I'd said my piece on this topic and was quite prepared to leave it alone but it seems the Passing bandwagon/nodding dog brigade have reared there heads, get an opinion of your own before you bother posting and bother me with your silly replys, I left school in 1989 (work out my age from that) so playground attitudes like yours and Jonathans are frankly sad.
*Gives Mattaff his soapbox back and gets on with something more constructive*
