I have also been wandering through the logs and looking through my postmaster mailbox and there's nothing indicating any problems in there - lots of email getting sent successfully is all I can see (including the one for the PM I just sent Dave, so if you don't get that then something is definitely up).

Perhaps your ISP is doing some kind of spam filtering and getting it wrong?

Matt.
PM received but no e-mail. I will investigate with my ISP.

Thanks.

My ISP has recently started blocking notifications as spam, yet they still send real spam through!

TBH given that the server has POP3 on it now, i'd recommend just leaving your notifications on this server and dragging down as a separate pop3 account to your email inbox, most clients support that these days. The address is 'pop.uktrainsim.com' if I remember rightly.

Matt:

Yes that do and have asked for the full address the notifications are sent from, so that they can make the necessary changes. Unfortunately I have deleted all the old ones so do not have the address. Can you please give it to me.

David

From: support@atomic-systems.com
Subject: Topic Reply Notification - [[TOPIC]]

or

Subject: New Private Message has arrived

Both messages contain:
Atomic Systems Support Team

Hopefully that provides them with plenty of information to put a fairly tight filter on.

I wonder how many other non-spam emails they are deleting... An ISP shouldn't interfer with your email

I think the reason the notifications aren't geting through the ISP spam block is that they are addressed to "Undisclosed-recipients:" rather than showing up as my normal e-mail address.

You can understand that being a cause for concern.

I found that Yahoo's spam blocker blocked my emails from TrainSimFiles as it regarded them as spam for some reason, so it's always recommended if you don't get the mail check the spam basket for them.

Ok, hadn't spotted it doing that - I've just changed it so that it sets the To: field up to the correct address... I really can't understand why they were doing it the way they were - most bizarre.

Still, see if that helps.

The notifications now have the correct contact info but are still not getting through the spam filter. What I am able to do is look at the blocked messages on the ISP's server and mark them as not spam. That works for individual threads but the next one I post in still gets blocked the same until I mark it, ad infinitum!

The odd thing though is that just occasionally some thread's notifications don't get blocked so it's hardly consistent.

David: No it didn't!

I've just had two fresh notifications come through. One was addressed to..... dforrest ! The other to me, so something odd is still happening.
