Buffy virus accusation
I recently recieved an e-mail from Dave Babb that in effect was inferring that i had sent him a virus, I would hope that anyone here who knows me to any measure would realise that i would NEVER intentionally send someone a virus, virus writers are in my opinion some of the most tiresome and worthless people in existance.
If anyone recieves an email from my address
( danz_wook@hotmail.com )
saying 'importent details' and containing the file 'Details.zip' DO NOT OPEN IT. delete it immidiately and let me know about the event, i'm keen to know if this happens again. i dont know how mails from my address are being sent out with viruses attached but they ARE NOT from me i assure you, i seem to remember a thread about this a while back i'm going to try and find it now.
Dave i'm sorry you got sent one of these but i would have appriciated a little more faith, i'd never be malicious enough to knowingly send a virus and indeed not be stupid enough to send attachment files to people with no pre-conference as to why.

ive not had one from you yet wookey, but i get between 6 and 20 a day with viruses, all purporting to come from regulars here and a couple from Europeanbahn people. Non really do of course, someone out there still has an unprotected PC but its rarely the supposed sender.
Anyone receiving one should ignore it and delete it. Eventually it will go away.

As I am. I got 3 e-mails the other day at the same time with viruses. I didn't note who they were supposedly from, but I deleted them double-quick, knowing full well they were all viruses.
There must be some seriously sad people out there, with nothing better to do than sit in front of a PC creating a virus.

If I'd known it was you I would probably not replied.
I am actually fairly suprised it came from a real email address, most of the . arriving in my inbox bounces its Qurb generated challange response.
If I had recognised it as someone I knew I would have assumed it was not actually deliberate, but I did not see who it was. Sorry.
I'm sure if I looked at the headers they would have come from somewhere else.
There is a very good chance its nothing to dowith you directly, probably someone else who has your address.

no probs dave, sorry i kinda snapped a bit,
honestly tho, you'd think people would have better things to do with their time than make viruses that just piss people off, and random people ffs, not even a group of friends taking the mick, or even a specific person you have a grievence with.. just random people, how pathetically sad that they enjoy that :/

Most virus are written by frustrated software engineers who are totally cheesed off with the whole MS (Windows) shooting match....they are trying to get MS to stop selling fatally flawed code...therefore unfortunately you are a casuality of this war.wookey wrote: or even a specific person you have a grievence with.. just random people, how pathetically sad that they enjoy that :/
A more sinister side is the rumour, that the big anti-virus, actually spred these to keep themselves in business.
The people you may be are referring to are "Hackers"...and this is something different.
