Download to complicated

I see that there has been some changes to downloading files from the download library. A seperate window now pops up then you have to click Download File.

This can be very confusing if downloading many files from a particular category ie the Growlers in Diesel Locos have 160 downloadable files.

Where as before just clicking the download arrow broght up Internet Exploeres Save to disk window.

Will the second window that appears be removed soon? Its really hampering me from downloading.

Thanks

Tazman

But at least now, you can download at any time, no need to wait for the 8pm rush!

I will be making it so that for premium users it goes right to the download, yes, but there's not much I can do about it for non-premium users because it you need the queue screen to come up one way or another.

Yeah sorry forgot to add i am a Premium User. Should have mentioned that.

But thanks for the reply Matt that would be great. I try to orginize all my files and directtories like they are on the downloads menu so it makes them easier to find.

Thanks Tazman

Just to say that the version of the download server i'm running at home now (development purposes) now has the capability to solve this, I'll need to modify the code on all the pages to issue a different URL than the one for non-premiums but that's no biggie. It should mean resuming, multi-parting etc are a hell of a lot smoother too.

Will shout when I put it all on.

When is Vern's Blackpool Route going to be available for download, there are lots of eager tram simmers waiting for the launch?

Gawd knows, or, well, I guess Vern does at any rate :)

When it's done, would be my hazard of a guess! Last I heard he was doing great with it though so who knows.

ok all the pending files being downloaded now, will look at them after i've had a snack and watched Scrubs (about 60 meg to come down so it'll be busy for a while :) )

The screenshot for Blackpool looks bloody good though!

Getting back on topic for a moment...

I've set up the 'newest files' screen so that it works using the new method, can you give it a shot and see if that's what you are looking for?
