I reported this earlier this week and it has returned again today.
Was ok when I checked yesterday.

Thanks for all the input guys. Keep the feedback coming please.
The more reports we have, the better chance we have to identify the issue that Norton is throwing up.

I've just been updated on two machines, with the latest incarnation of NIS - version 22.5.0.124
Both machines now have files flagged as security threats, even though they have been there for a long time and been scanned as clean, many times before!
I haven't encountered anything untoward in the file library, yet.

The latest Norton software upgrade has upset a lot of users, many of them reporting hundreds of, hopefully, false-positives! :x

My Norton reports the following:-

Threat Name: Trojan[dot]Gen[dot]SMH
Location: http[colon]//dltest.uktrainsim.com/uktrainsim/download/premium/252745/YbLnNQ9trv83Foj6ZY/27665/UKTS_27665_UKTS_27665_UKTS_Freeware_Pack_-_Great_Scenario_Challenge_

This appears to be exactly the same that was reported before? Hope this helps?

The fundamental problems here are

a) Norton is trash, imho, it's worse than actually having a virus on your machine in many cases. Strictly IMHO.

b) Norton is almost always the first to false report on ClickTeam installers (which this file is) - though they aren't on their own in that, I have no idea why, but ClickTeam continually gets false-detected as having something wrong with it by some anti viral programs.

I have tested the file in question on an independant online scanner that runs the file up against 44 anti virus / trojan packages and Norton is the only one that reports the failure.

I've now re-requested that Norton once again re-evaluate the site and fix the problem rather than being stupid about it.

Grr. I hate Norton. So much.

Matt.

Scrub my earlier post - still saying it's a suspicious site (though not malicious)

Hi All,

Yep, I am also getting Norton Safe Web warnings about UK Tainsim. This did go away briefly a couple of days ago, but it is back again now.
Norton Rating
Norton Safe Web has analyzed uktrainsim.com for safety and security problems. Below is a sample of the threats that were found.
Summary

Computer Threats: 1
Identity Threats: 0
Annoyance factors: 0

Total threats on this site: 1

Threat Name:
Trojan.Gen.SMH
Location:

Good old Symantec. A false positive that they have not resolved?

Me too! Went away a few days ago, then came back with 'orange' warning mark saying suspicious at risk, now blocked again :(

I pasted the URL into a virus checking site at www[dot]virustotal[dot]com and it came back clean. I shall pass this onto Norton indicating it must be a false positive. Mind you I suggested this the last time so not sure what will happen. All I would say is that we all have our own opinions on the quality or otherwise of products and perhaps it might be politic to keep them to ourselves in order to avoid potential contentious discourse!

Good evening
I try to write in English , but my personnal level is poor , and excuse in advance for that :
Since 4 or 5 days , your site is marked: potentially with a risk.....I have Norton internet security .....I deleted from all my favorites sites and try to search again by Google.....and always , it is the same the UKTrainsim site is marked infected and positiv with a trojan....
Sorry with my explanation
Have a good evening .

It must be a problem with Norton,as no one else are getting these messages, other than Norton users,I use AVG and haven't any warning messages.
