That's great. I get a little bored of the scotsman cabview and sounds sometimes.

It has long been a problem to find a suitable cabview for narrow gauge locos, a subject that has been aired several times. ID.11197 HR Pass Tank cab
ID.13938 Generic L.H. Drive tank cab
ID. 16429 Generic N.G.cabs
offer some suitably unsophisticated cabs with varying types of spectacle plate windows. and I believe it is possible for those a little more skilled to interchange some of the cab interior side views to match the loco.

Does the Generic narrow guage cab automatically change the scotsman cab when you download it?

You have to do a little bit of work. There are 6 versions of the generic cab as explained in the readme file that comes with it, all you have to do is copy the cvf file for the one you want into the cabview folder of the loco concerned and change the cabview line in the .eng to point to it as below:

CabView ( gencabhunx2.cvf )

(you need to use an editor that handles Unicode for this job - I use Wordpad)

I have been doing some more research on the route and have another field trip planned to tidy up a few things, but meanwhile, here is another might-have-been, and one that doesn't require much modeller's licence

Intriguing! Don't suppose you could tell us a little more about her, please? :)

Just imagine the cab about half the height, with a chimney to match..

Having been to the North Gloucestershire website, the 2 engines are quite similar, but Justine is rather bigger, here is the loco (now with completed valve gear and a few other bits) and a driver to give an impression of size

95% of the engine is shared with a very familiar British 15in gauge loco.

Andrew,

Could you send be a copy of the loco, a bit of an odd loco but incredibly intruiging.

thanks,
Simon

Simon,

There's quite a bit to do before this one is ready to go - the cab is hardly started, no clack boxes, the weigh shaft is floating in space etc, etc,
