As someone has recently remarked, publishing release dates is making a rod for your own back, so I won't do anything just yet, but I will release Eaton Hall, with its engines and stock first. Muriel, Ella and Katie will be part of the R&ER, which may be out first.

The project is still alive and well, but not the only thing in my life at the moment! I am doing a few more things for the R&ER project, and trying to work out how to fill a few rather bland sections on the Eaton line. As the line ran almost exclusively on private land, there are whole stretches which seem never to have been photographed.

I'll be honest, I wasn't aware of it's existance before this thread, but what's the area like these days? Could get hedgerows, tracks and the alike from satellite imagery. Failing that, put whatever you like in there - if there's no photographs, who's going to tell you it's wrong.

Sorry if i seem over-keen, but this route and its stock has really caught my attention, being a life long fan of the works of sir arthur heywood, and also a big fan of your previous work, some of the best NG/Minimum gauge stock ive seen.

Paul, your interest is appreciated! Here is the problem area.

I have Edwardian 6in OS maps for the area, so I can put hedges in the right places, the problem is that the fields are quite big, and the railway ran around the edge of them, without hedges or walls, in between. Maybe I will plough one, and put a dairy herd in another.

Sounds like a good idea, i suppose "grey" areas have theyre good points and bad points, you can do what you want, but you then have to think it up!

I have been concentrating for the past couple of weeks on the brick works at Cuckoo's Nest, and this shows how far things have got

It seems that when building a route. most of the work goes on things which aren't actually "railway things" at all!

Is the Brick works one of the last things on your list or are there a few more things still to do?

One more thing. Will the locos come with a custom cabview and sound files or will they use the default Scotsman files?

Thanks

The brickworks is one of the last major items, but this is perhaps the beginning of the end, rather than anything further than that. I have not reached the stage of making a list of things to do as there are far too many of them! There is still too much bare space, and I have just heard of someone with a copy of Heywood's original survey which has a note that the line does not cross any arable land, so the wheat field will have to come out.

There will certainly be a non-Scotsman cabview, and I hope to include an authentic sound set, but this is not something I have done before.
