I dont often wonder into this forum, more of a mainline standard gauge man myself, but after seeing what's been worked on here, I must say I am impressed, I shall be watching this, and all the other Narrow Gauge projects with great anticipation.

I am now working on the stretch of line from Belgrave to Balderton, where hardly any pictures seem to have been taken. Here is Ursula, heading for Balderton, crossing the first bridge over the brrok. The driver has at last overcome his camera-shyness.

Seems strange that photographers should have neglected that section, it looks quite senic to me!

I suspect that the reason was that nearly all the railway lay on private land, and the railway photographer couldn't get to such places.

Here is a train crossing the other bridge over the brook, this time heading towards the hall from Balderton. This engine never ran here, but does anyone recognise it?

This does look great, I'm quite a lot in awe of people who can build these virtual layouts, whilst I still struggle to complete basic actvities Look forward to more progress.
In response to an earlier question (ok from a few months back) Little Giant did make it to Dalegarth a few times during its visits in the late 80's, however I believe for its for recent ones in 1996 and 1999 it was kept to between Ravenglass and Muncaster Mill

I believe that the little oco motiveabove was an oil-engine powered machine which worked at a gunpowder factory...I think. It didn't come from Waltham Abbey by any chance did it?

I'm sure I've seen a picture of it running beside a canal...

Just such an engine (in fact quite a few) did run at the Royal Gunpowder Mills at Waltham Abbey, a line which was 18in gauge, but there was also one which ran on the 16in gauge, at Helsby Cables, near Warrington. I have used a little licence, but the engine looks quite at home with the Eaton brake.

Never knew the Royal Gunpowder Mills used to have a little NG railway, Anyone got any info on it.

I visited the site last year, to have a look at Woolwich and Carnegie, and are several displays on the original railway system.

I have been doing some work at the Balderton end of the line, so that a run from there to Cuckoo's Nest doesn't look like a trip over a billiard table, and this is how things look at the moment.

The picture shows a problem I haven't yet solved; the hawthorn hedge is not manicured and so has a top with twigs and leaves poking out, which looks fine until there is a forest behind it, when the transparent bits of the hedge go opaque white. Have I done something wrong, or is it a feature of MSTS?

Are you running on full graphics, if not try turning them up a bit...

Its not the texture going white...its the trees behind going invisible, and you seeing the sky above the horizon. And I can't remember if there's a cure for it that you can do without the source of the hedge.

Anybody else remember this particular issue...which has popped up dozens of times....
