A bit more progress - this one isn't finished yet, but I hope that at least someone will know what it is.

Thanks TIm. I will probably do the later one as well, consulting the book, it is a 20/26HP with the frames being the main difference - I shall not bother with the detachable heads on the Dorman 2JOR engine! Both types were made in huge numbers for 2' gauge and I may well release them in such a form as well.

Whatever they had the bonnet up for has now been fixed, and the Simplex has got round to the hall. Here is the other end, with the cut-out in the engine cover now done.

Two Simpleces at Balderton - there were more differences than I thought, the hardest being the driver's seat (which I haven't done yet!)

Looking great i have to say, like the wooden shed for a cab. I'm working on a little something for this route the many variations of which should keep me going for a while

Thank you - the wooden sheds are actually built to Motor Rail drawings! I have also worked out how to do the pressed tin "tractor seat" for the second one - and made it.

Here is a somewhat improbable scene showing all the (non-miniature) locomotives that ever ran on the Eaton Railway, all gathered together at Belgrave shed .

As you will see I have revised the ballast, this is what seems to be called "red cinders" and seems to suit far better than the bright red (which was very rough abrasive paper!_

Thanks Murray - I have a feeling that someone is working on that very thing.
Work on buildings and so on has slowed down as I have a field trip planned for the Steam at Eaton event in July and will take the opportunity to get pictures of lots of things that don't move as well as those powered by steam.
In the meantime, here are some vehicles which never ran at Eaton, and so are shown in Another Place....

Two things:
For those of you who don't visit the MSTS1 videos forum, here is a video I did for Minimum Gauge modellers who were unfamiliar with MSTS, to give an idea of what virtual minimum gauge looks like. The first half is at Balderton sidings in the Eaton Hall route, but as none of the rest of the line is very presentable yet, the rest is on my 18in route.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I4DLcWZ8xTQ
Secondly, I have been trawling through other peoples' researches and it appears that MSTS can be made to run a figure-of-eight route, and based on their work, I have produced a mock up of the Duffield Bank line, on which Shelagh goes round and round until I get dizzy. It is quite early days, but it seems that it can be done, so I shall work on this as well as Eaton.
