Re: Eighteen Inch Revisited
Looking good as always, Andrew.

Cheers,
Kevin

Re: Eighteen Inch Revisited
I think that it may possibly be the old UKTrueScale track sections with the floating pointblades, remember?
I sorted all the animations/floating blades and had them added to XTracks in the end.

Re: Eighteen Inch Revisited
Thanks again for the positive feedback. I've just looked at the route and the convtroversial point is N1YPnt10dMnl - this is x2 on 3' gauge. I had hoped to visit the 18in gauge Steeple Grange Light Railway last weekend, and get some pictures for track texture, but as I had already dragged my wife to the Royal Gunpowder Mills to look at their 18in stock the previous day, I decided it could wait a while.

Re: Eighteen Inch Revisited
Andrew, do you want to send me the point shape?
If it does have floating pointblades then I can try and sort it.

Re: Eighteen Inch Revisited
Thanks to Andrew Gadd, the train crews are now much more confident over that point...

Having seen some wonderful azaleas in the garden of the castle last week, I decided that the station needs some as a screen for the view from the house, but I didn't take a single usable picture!

Looks great. Keep up the good work, jefran.

Re: Eighteen Inch Revisited
This a slightly odd NG route in that it's 18in gauge, whereas most British routes are nominally 2' (actually, because whichever way you do it they are effectively half standard gauge, they are really 2' 4-1/4" - perfect for the Snailbeach District) I am using Okrasa Ghia's 3ft gauge track system and building everything else twice full size. For 2ft gauge (ish) there is either Tim Booths UKNG (for truescale) or x2 as used on the Festiniog route - the sticky at the top of the forum explains it quite well.

Re: Eighteen Inch Revisited
Andrew, are you going to send Okrasa the edited shape or would you like me to do it?
We really should send it on to him as I know he like to keep on top of any amendments.

Re: Eighteen Inch Revisited
shebarose,
All* of the narrow gauge track sections mentioned in these forums are included in XTracks.
*Except the Lartigue Monorail which come with the Piddington.

Re: Eighteen Inch Revisited
Some more progress! I have finally started on the gasworks, though I have been able to find very little in the way of pictures or descriptions of the real one, so this is based on a large OS map and other similar sized installations. Still a long way to go, but here are 2 shots of the Hudswell Clarke about to retrieve a string of wagons which have just been emptied by the tippler on the new retort house, one from just outside the gates,

Re: Eighteen Inch Revisited
The gasworks is nearly complete - though still very clean, and here is one of the Deptford engines have just unloaded a train of coal to replenish the very empty looking coal store. The new retort house has a tippler and conveyor, but the original arrangements involved loading coal into the 1,000 ton capacity store, and then drawing it as required. The wagons in this case are Deptford opens, from which the bodies could be lifted by a crane and the contents deposited into the bins.

Re: Eighteen Inch Revisited
Just in case anyone was wondering, the project is still progressing, here is the latest (WIP) loco outside the old works.

I am still working on the finer points of the valve gear (it's one I haven't done before), but I think that I have nearly got there. As usual, the prototype is a little obscure, but ought to be recognisable.
