Thanks for the positive comments. Work on the big engine has reached the point where it can do some useful work, so the estate sent it down to bring some logs back from one of the forestry sidings. The journey to the estate sawmill will take some time as the location has not yet been fixed!

A site for the sawmill has been fixed, and the train has arrived - just less than a week after setting out (0.8 miles as the crow flies, according to Google Earth). Everything looks very clean, and this could well be the first load of timber to be sawn here.

Nothing is going to get cut just yet, as the portable engine is still in travelling condition.

Thanks Kevin, the portable engine is modelled like that as I couldn't face doing 2 sets of motion work for a scenery item!

Like nearly all good narrow gauge railways, this one has a quarry, though at the moment it looks far too clean....

The Hunslet is very nearly done and is seen here taking water in the woods, whilst returning a load of empty wagons.

Well, thanks very much - I shall keep at it!
The route could be made presentable with the completion of 2 more big scenery items - the stately home and the gasworks. I know how I am going to do the former, and have some hopes for the latter.

The town section is nearly finished, and just to prove that the sun does not always shine round here...
