A fictional 0-4-0 works steam loco i'm putting together in Gmax for MSTS, ideal for quarry work and small loads, alongside shunting goods.

As far as i'm taking it today, not far from completion now. Fully animated, most of it's modelled and i've started thinking up textures.

Although i still have the horrific job of exporting it from Gmax, something i've never managed and have lost alot of hair over in the past.

May be not as 'fictional' as you think. I have seen old photos of similar steam 'industrial' of the type. I think you have caught the look very well and it would look great with a set of old hopper type wagons behind it.

I did have a few similar loco type drawings hanging around so i merged them together to form something recognisable but still somewhat generic. So in a way it's fictional, just borrowing elements from other types.

Tom, looks great.
If you were to move both axles forward as far as possible and the rear axle forward enough to clear the front of the firebox you wouldn’t have a fictional loco, but a hypothetical design!!!

Well i did borrow from the design of Alan George a bit, but wanted it to look like it was built by a workshop from various designs to best fit the job.

Now who can help me stop the cab from turning inside out when i reset xform in Gmax

The firebox is larger than the smokebox, that is all, better steaming ability like that ;)

Will be interesting to see the textures on this... could look very nice in a battered worn livery like the Penrhyn hunslets seems to be turned out in towards the last days of steam in the quarries.

That's what i was planning, a battered rusty look.

Sadly i'm having some real problems exporting the model from Gmax as it currently is and if i can't get it out now i wont waste my time texturing it.
