Hi Barry,

Its looking great ,

I'm fascinated by your pictures of the progress of the model as i know nothing of the tools to design and build them for the sim and would like to learn more ,any suggestions as to how to start?

Back in the 70 and 80's i scratch built loco's in Plastic card mainly Narrow Gauge steam and GP35's in 1/4 scale from plans etc but have not built anything for a while due to the old hands not being what they used to be but it would be interesting to have a try on the PC,

Anyway its interesting to see the progress of your models,

Cheers,

Roger.

Thanks, Roger, I nearly deleted some of the earlier posts, but if you're interested in the progress steps then I wont delete them. Already that last pic is out of date, because I often 'spot something nasty' once I've posted and looked more closely at it, thus the first call is 'back to the drawingboard' to fix said nasty while it's still fresh in the mind.

I've found over the years you can look at a photograph, or plan set, until you see spots in front of your eyes. The next day you always find something obvious you've overlooked, or spot a new detail, "I can't believe I didn't see that!" and this process goes on until the end of a project.

Cheers Bazza

Since my previous post I found another mine or two of information and photographs show the C2 in various guises. Yes, there were minor differences between them so the one I'm working on might end up 'generic' but it's definitely gonna be a tatty one.

One clip I've seen shows a consist with C2 plus C2 helper at the rear. They were also used for local pax service, quite a versitile wee beastie.

Nearly 2.5 hours later, another update. Actually, more like 2 hours workwise, as I lost a half hour's work throught 'a lapse' forgetting to save, save, save, I was so engrossed in the project.

The model is 1:1 scale at the moment. I run it on a Xtracks 3ft gauge for test purposes.

A transition phase, testing various textures to achieve the desired result. And it's gotta work in the sim.
