The Garratt is certainly on my agenda - though it was hardly a conspicuous success on the DHR, and never came close to displacing the class B tank engines. Beyer Peacock obviously had great expectations as there was a very detailed write up in the contemporary engineering press (I read it all 70 years or so later!) and abundant material for a model - though I will probably go for the loco as hacked about by Tindharia works, with the chain drive reversing gear and the huge rerailing beam - and maybe, a couple of sander wallahs

Adrian Shooter's B, the contemporary B and the coaches can be sampled for the first time (no screens up anywhere yet) at Train Sim Convention.

We are in negotiations to display the work at the Leighton Buzzard's Indain day on May 7th, where No. 19 will be visiting.

Hmm - I must make an effort to get there - it's still a long way, but a sight nearer than Oxfordshire.

Meanwhile, here is the first of the named engines, "Queen of the Hills", the others will be "Mountaineer", "Himalayan Bird" (maybe with the brass bird on the cylinder lagging) and "Green Hills"

The engines share a common main .s file with overlays for all the variations - nameplates, numbers, tailrods, chimney caps, curved bit under the bunker (ex Raipur Forest engines) &c &c

I'm surprised that there isn't a route. I wonder if any of our international MSTS friends in India have made one? I have a very old set (pre WW2) railway stories, with an article which includes a photo of the zig-zag on this route.

The route is simply too long to justify doing I'm afraid.

Looking great Andy

They are - and it looks a real labour of love with the number of buildings and other scenery items that they have created.

Perhaps a smaller freelance DHR-esque route could be made for MSTS in the future to run this fantastic stock on..............
