The Riddlecombe Lartigue (part of the P.L.Rly.)

Post by andrewgadd »

Work on the route has been very slow of late, although the co-authors are furiously writing activities!
However I have been building the odd piece of scenery and below is a shot of the Bridgetown Lartigue Goodshed, the main monorail station is to the left of shot with the Narrow gauge station to the right!
Hope you all like!!!

I was discussing Lartigue monorails with someone at the Leamington show and was wondering how you were getting on with your dabblings with this system.

Your route would make a fantastic demo for use in front of the public at a show.

I could suggest you make an "invisible smoke unit" with zero length and weight that you couple behind the engine and thus get smoke from both funnels.

Why Are We Waiting?

There are a couple of reasons why you are waiting for a newer version of the P.Lt.Rly. and it all stems from the fact that I decided to include my new Lartigue system into the route.
Having made the decision it seamed pointless to release a route with a track system included but with no stock with which anyone can use! I have already made a few items of rolling stock for the Lartigue (some teak coaches using default textures) but am having problems with a loco.
I am a perfectionist and have managed to get my stock to work reasonable well (the activity builders seem quite pleased with the results so far), but I run up against many problems when I create a second “invisibleâ€

As an after thought,
Any offers made to build another loco for the Lartigue would be gratefully appreciated (MIKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) (Possibly one of the only other model makers I would trust with such a project).

I have been priviledged enough to be asked to write a few activities for this route, and can say that it is absolutely excellent. The stock which I have so far is the BEST msts stock I have seen in terms of realism and handling, and the detail and models are amazing. It really is worth waiting for...Leave the genius alone to finish his masterpiece!
