Sea Lion hits the tracks...

Post by JonPotter »

Today Sea Lion hit the tracks for the first time after arriving in my inbox last night. As the route is awaiting the finishing of DEM at the moment the Ffestiniog railway was used, and three of the pictures are below:

Proudly standing at Porthmadog for the first time, Sea Lion proudly stands with FR 16.

A look at the valve gear, all fully animated correctly of course

Sea Lion & train nears Minffordd

There are 2 faults on the model - both minor, and I've told Andrew what they are so that they can be fixed. But what a model! I'm hopefull that Andrew will build 'Polar Bear' as well.

The textures are nearly all photoreal, supplied by myself and edited by Andrew for the model.

It will be paired with a correct cab and sounds in due course!

The .eng file will be tweaked later to suit the engine - although it's already pretty good!

Thanks, although it was mostly Andrew - all I did was feedback and supplying texturing (although I'm doing the .eng file)

I have confirmation that Andrew will make Polar Bear as well - another brand new model exclusive to the pack - although he's havin a rest for a couple of weeks.

The textures on the front of the tanks are, I'm told, how 3DC will do them best, and the .s file has been updated to fix the problem with the wheel.

Ben,

When I saw the first shots of your 4 wheelers my imediate reaction was that I wasn't sure that my loco would be up to the same standard!

I hope that all of the models are up to the same standard so that we can raise as much money as possible   !!! The coaches are so frustrating trying to get them textured  - Hopefully running soon though!!!

Ben :D :D :D

I'd say about 30-50. Just to see demand etc.

I'd say more than that, as (subject to approval) I'll send 30 over to the island for them to sell as well.

(As a figure BATS run off 5000 in the first batch, but they are of course selling commercially)
