There appears to be 2 garratt for sale on built by beyer peacock and the the other by cockerill of belguim there both either NGG 16 or 13 im not very good on Garratt's. However there is also something much more intersting to me anyway Barnes Atlantic Billie don't think my student loan will cover it though. Also theres an 18inch guage sterling single is this the one that ran at Jaywick and fairbourne? Some other NG and Standard guage stuff for sale as well includeing an O&K 0-10-0 felixable wheelbase loco would be great on the FR

No they wouldn'tRobertM wrote:I bet the WHR(C) would be interested in the two Garratts!!!
They already turned these down as being "beyond economic restoration" when they looked at them about 4 years ago - they were part of a job lot of locos available after the Robin Hood's Bay narrow gauge railway scheme fell through. WHR took their two NG15's from this source.
You'd need a rollover lottery win to mend these locos...

No...this is actually the Jawick single's little known elder sibling. The Jaywick single is on display at the world of country life museum near exmouth, though quite what she has to do with country life I've no idea! Nevertheless, it is good that she is in a secure, undercover home; her sister was left outside in a back garden for ten years before her owner was forced by the council to remove her as a public eyesore! She is now in very poor condition and would take more than a student loan to restore methinks!Rfairlie wrote:Also theres an 18inch guage sterling single is this the one that ran at Jaywick and fairbourne?

The website is that of a Mr Michael List Brain, well know traction enigne 'dealer.' The only man known to have a Fowler Showmans Enigne for sale for 3 years and not sell it... normally enignes of that magnitude sell within days if not hours... reputed to be asking £300k or so for it however which is probably why.
God alone knows what he'd want for a Garrat...
