A Fictional Reskin

Post by trainlover123 »

Hi,

Image

this is my latest project, there are a few problems:
  • An Alpha Channel Problem causing 4 odd-looking boxes
  • Little 'patch' at the back
  • No Rivets (I got fed up with PSP acting up)
Should it be uploaded? :)

EDIT: Moved to My own site

Robert,

I've got to sort the problems he's having first, then, I'll send the textures back over to him (Paul) and he can finish off, as I said a bit above this one (my first post in this topic ;) ) I've reskinned Vinent before, so know the quirks of the textures ;)

I've reskinned this too, it's an easy loco to work with.

Quick progress report for you Paul,

I've added some rivetts to the smokebox, which greatly improves it ;)
The alpha channels are a B(etter not, its a family forum)r to get right, still working on this, trying to tone down the parts that are causing this horroble phenomenon (the four squared) the cab backsheet looks decent though :D

I should have more progress shortly, but I've just been out for the last couple of hours, so haven't done too much, apart from what is mentioned above (I like the name BTW ;) )

Cheers,
Dale

Seen from the normal viewing distance, the reskin currently looks like this, note the rivets on the smokebox, and that the two squares on this side are less noticeable, unfortunately I can't get them to blend with the sides properly, as the weathering is difficult to replicate on both parts (different .ace files) I'll see what I can do though, might get it better than this ;)

Why not alpha them out all together?
