Groudle Glen

Post by JonPotter »

Well, after 2 months of planning us at BucksTS have today announced the Groudle Glen project - see http://www.freewebs.com/groudleglen with all the latest info

Work on 2 engines and the coaches is progressing well by various people, and I've finished 4 buildings for Lhen Coan, although he water tank will be replaced by a new 'working' version soon.

All engines will be released next March with the route, and will all have custom cabs courtesy of William High and Murray Tremellen, as well as sounds just completed by yours truly.

The actual roue is 1/2 way through terraforming as I'm just about to go out I havn't had time to finishit - hopefull tomorrow.

Anyway, I hope that people will enjoy this, albeit short, route once complete.

And, if you can;t wait 'Annie' and the modern coaches will be available in time for Christmas - that's our pressie to you.

Also coming are headboards - Polar bear 100 and MuzTrem's 14th birthday headboard made by yours truly, as carried by Annie, Polar Bear and 2 horse trams during the Sunday just gone

Nvincer has agreed to create the 4-wheel coaches, which means I'll have more time to make the route. I'm hoping to finish Lhen Coan in the next few weeks, before I go on holiday.

If I have time I'll also do an Island Express headboard, as carried by Sea Lion for her re-launch in 1987. And I'll make a start on those coaches today as well!

Excellent! Everything is moving ahead of target. It'sbound to slow down though! At this moment I'm making the station signs and then I'll try to work out the rest of this terraforming business!

No news on locos except that construction on Annie will begin once the route has been terraformed and Lhen Coan is progressing.

Oh yeah, I forogt - Murray, is there any chance of the crest headboards as carried in 1993?

Brilliant! Will definately be finished before the engine!

Virtual Groudle is an idea in my head at the moment. As many drivers as want to get involved, drawn from a hat to run the services. 5 out & backs only per day - only running when Groudle does, but some days, eg Saturdays, when Groudle isn't running, we can ue Rishra and Chaloner in a 1995 scene (no Jack, sorry I simply don't have the time), and also run other events. The 2005 event, as I have most of it on video, would, of course, be included somewhere.

What do people think - good or bad?

Anyone who feels nice there is still that interactive water tower (and coaling stage) ...

Groudle Virtual will probably happen then...

David - sorry - will do

William - if someone wants to do a reskin then please feel free! Although I did notice while looking at the Brecon Pacific thread (about April, page 4 I think in this forum) that a Jack is seen on the pics on the first page - hae enquired on the thread about the Indian engines as they're the same guy.

Virtual Groudle won't be hard to make so I will do it once I've done the route!
