I can see that No. 7 may go to the Talyllyn ome time in the future, in a deal to get No. 3 back to the Corris or something.

You're right, No. 4 did go to the Corris - but I disagree with Murray Tremellen's view that Nos. 4 and 7 will meet up (well, at Corris) - as I'm sure that Corris would rather have No. 3!

Not really, sorry to disagree, but what with 3 going over the other year from the TR, its 4's turn really isnt it! And of course there is the nice idea of the two tatoo's together. The two railways dont really work with 'deals' its all quite laid back, if the corris want an engine, and we can spare it in Tywyn, then it goes generally. Normally the engine will be painted up in Corris Livery (which is why No.3 ran in red for so long)... to fit in on the Corris.

I can see both the tatoo's meeting up together, but it would be at Corris I think, I cant see the Corris wanting to let their new toy out of sight. I know 4 has only come back into traffic, however maybe in a couple of years it will do a season on the Corris. Im not sure how things stand in Tywyn at the moment, last time I was down 6 was on blocks, 7 had no tubes and No.1 was in bits, leaving 3 working engines for a 3 engine peak. Add 7 back in and we've got a bare service fleet, so nothings going anywhere I wouldnt have thought till at least either 6 or 1 come back.

4 went to Corris in 1994, got nicknamed the flying mars bar by the TR crews as it was repainted into a brown/red colour scheme, much like the one No.3 is carrying at the moment.

Nos 3 and 4 have both been painted red for TTE events and had the livery described as "corris", but I always thougth corris livery was brown?

3 and 4 have run in red on and off since the early 80's, No.4 ran in various colours through the 90's, Corris Maroon, Bright Red, GWR green, BR Black, and now TR Green. No.3 has run in red, TR green and Corris Maroon since the early 80's, invariably one has been the thomas the tank engine, until we did 6 up as Duncan.

The TTE red was a comprimise between TTE and Corris, it worked for both, No one knows what colour true Corris Livery was, likewise no one knows what colour maroon No.2 ran in the 1900's, and no one knows the original TR Green. There often wasnt one set livery, engines got painted in whatever colour was in the back of the shed, and this faded or darkened over the years.

Somewhere there is a shot of 1 and 2, No.2 newly outshopped at Pendre, in a totally different green to that carried by No.1! Look at the 1970's green, its a lot lighter than current TR green.

Though controvertial at the end of the day its only a coat of paint, i dont care what colour the engine is to be honest, the mechanical side of things is far more important! :)

Heehee!

Excellent, methinks it will be a bit jumpy on the regulator... Its bad enough geared down on the single cylinder .

Can I order a compound version with canopy and brass showmans fittings?

Yeah,

It became derailed on the 10th October 2004 during a shunt movement, It was finnally moved on the 25th. The two parties involved fell out, causing all the loco owners to go on strike. The BRS then told the owner to move BOTH steam engines, there is an 0-4-0ST under restoration. The engine will be Chinnors only resident steam loco I think. The Pannier Tank is a visitor.
