15" Gauge Route

Post by MuzTrem »

Hi all,
I have for a long time been dissapointed at the lack of 15" gauge material for MSTS. So now I have decided to do something about it! My plan is to create a fictional 15" gauge estate railway. But I would need someone to create suitible rolling stock and scenery as I canot yet do this myself. Anyone with me?

sounds like a good idea me, I've actually got 3 or 4 15inch locos in various stages of incomplition as well as the Eaton Hall Railway with some track and basic scenery.

When i finish the SpoonersTS stuff i'll get round to finishing them.

I have no idea how to make the route, but I'm pretty good at building activities if you need help there.

If you want a one off livery that is on all of the locos, I'll do it for you, as long as I can help test the route when its ready

Thanks for your support guys. I must confess that what with one thing and another, I havn't been able to start the route yet. But I'll get on with it asap and news will be on my site when I do.

Right guys, there's been a change of plan...
I still havn't started the route because I can't install xtracks. When I get this sorted I will make a start. In the meantime, I have come across a map of the short lived Luna Park Railway in Geneva, so I have decided to try to model this route. I have also downloaded gmax and once I register it I will be able to make 3d models for buildings and locos. So lets see about getting my head around x-tracks...

Hi Murray,
A couple of items for your consideration.

XTracks, this may be downloaded as a self-installer or as a “do-it-yourselfâ€

I initially downloaded xtracks as a self installer, but to be able to use it in RE you need the route builders extras pack and I could only find a manual version of this, and this is where I'm having trouble.

OK Murray, lets set you on your route building way.

The route builders extra for XTracks contains a number of texture (.ace) files that are needed for the many different styles of track sections found within XTracks. Some of these textures are then uploaded with the finished route.

As you are only going to need the track textures for the UKNG track sections the whole of the route builders extras package is a little bit of over kill.
May I suggest that you use the track textures that I made up for my miniature railway route?

If you are unable to download this route let me know and I can mail the textures straight to you.
If any one is able to photo some 15in gauge track so that I can make up a better miniature railway track texture please let me know?
New track textures may be dropped into a route at any time to create a different track effect without any adverse effects on the route.

Still no progress, but this is going to get built I swear! Basically my SAT exams are approaching so I'm doing lots of revision but once that's out of the way I hope I can knuckle down and get on with it.
Thank you for you patience and understanding!
