Steve shots looking very good... may I be pedantic and point out all the errors ive spotted? Ignore them, change them or tell me to sod off if you so wish: Some of the following (in fact most of them) are very pedantic indeed, and based on what i remember from travelling up and down the line...

Wharf: There is a big ballast pile to the right of Lechfan, used by the engineering dept for pway jobs. In fact two big piles of ballast. Also seem to recall more rubbish round Lechfan! (The temp accomodation LechVAN (a mobile caravn hence the name) also lives behind lechfan). Wharf cutting is also darker, muddier, wetter, more overgrown and colder . Especially at 5.45am.

Pendre-Brynglas: The houses to the right side of Pendre looking up the line run all the way back to School bridge, in fact the road connects the engine sheds to school bridge. Leaving Pendre there is an industrial estate on the left hand side, home of Halo Ice Cream *drools*. The road at Hendy extends further both ways I think, its a longer road. At Cynfal the railway is above the line of the hedges up Cynfal Bank, its almost raised slightly... and have you included the infamous Cynfal Stream?

Moving onto Brynglas, the road again goes right across the railway, that wasnt too clear from the screenshots.



And after brynglas station there is a largish farm on both sides of the railway, with an occupation crossing in between.



One thing I noticed, is there a left hand curve after tadpole bridge? If so the line should be dead straight all the way up brynglas bank to the start of 6 bends...




Between Dolgoch and Quarry siding it needs to be darker and with more trees. Its quite dingy through the woods there and rather brown and earthy aswell.

At Quarry there is quite a lot of undergrowth and junk round the siding... the track up the siding is also pretty rough. Along Ceunant Coch you need more trees. A nice little touch would be the addition of the two farms across the valley Tan-y-Coed Isaf and Tan-y-Coed Ucaf if you havnt included them in!.

Abergnolwyn also has a watering point, not sure if thats been included as its seldom used and rather well hidden up the bank by the down platform.

Finally between Aber and Nant, there are more trees up the extension, its very overgrown and again rather dark up there.




Forestry Crossing being an example, you often have trouble seeing traffic for the trees! Another nice touch would be the addition of the old rails round big bend, on the ravine side of the track. The slate wall (not fence) along that bit and into the station and also the Altwylt incline at Nant.

Sorry to be picky... as i said, ignore if you so wish, a lot of the above you only see from the footplate, like some of the occupation crossings and the way the track looks..

This is looking good Steve! Pendre level crossing is looking much better IMHO.

Lots of good stuff in there. Asbestos roof is superb and trees close up to the line are a good touch.

Chris - thanks for the detailed feedback. You've picked up on most of the outstanding things that I have on my list of things to still add (which is good because it means I have got it about right) but one or two other things that I hadn't spotted - thanks. I've got to be a bit careful just how overgrown I make the line as otherwise you get almost no external views worth speaking of but where there is clearly overhanging trees that characterise the line then I'll add them of course.
The line does indeed have a bend after Brynglas bridge but at this stage it's going to have to stay that way - I did realise it was wrong but there are a few of these "anomalies" where the terraforming and track line didn't quite match. It's the usual trade-off between 100% accuracy and what you can finally get from MSTS !!

No worries, it was quite odd seeing it all again, as have now not been to Tywyn for almost 2 years. Its looking excellent though well done. I especially like Pendre, youve really captured the character of it well. A few V tippers in the ash siding there, one or two coaches and maybe a bo-flat or two and it will be spot on. Im also very impressed with the shots as far as Rhydy, again youve got the bit of the TR everyone forgets, through the feilds from Ty-Mawr to Cynfal... well done.

Silly Trivia fact: Cynfal station has the smallest platform on any UK Narrow or Standard Gauge Railway I believe...

...but may I ask the stupid question? ...will it be free for download on the Talyllyn site (when it's complete) or will i need to buy a CD?

That's a good question. I'm not sure yet. There's no doubt the install will be BIG and warrant a CD but a download will be a possible distribution medium.
However, I am keen to try and get some benefit to the Talyllyn for the hours I've spent on building the route and so I am investigating whether some form of donation to Talyllyn funds would be appropriate. (I'm merely thinking of a charge just to cover CD, P&P and perhaps a £1 optional donation going to the TR...........)

Any other views on whether people would consider such a donation option ?

I would love to contribute to the Talyllyn from Western Australia - I already have your previous CD!! which I got from UKTS.

Why don't you approach Matt and see if you can charge say 6 pounds of which Talyllyn will get at least 1 pound - that way UKTS can distribute your CD (As before) and the Talyllyn Railway can ensure the ease of distribution through Matt (and his Dad)

For all of us living Overseas it is far easier for us to order from UKTS as we can pay by Credit Card online.
