Ashbury activities for Ffestiniog

Post by Garthion »

Good Evening/Morning/Afternoon or whenever you read this!

As posted in the Ashbury coaches topic/thread, I am currently writting a series (to be released as a pack) of activities based on the release of the replicas (in a few years time) into service, the activities will take the form of a series of Photographic charters where you get comments by passengers, these comments will be relevant to both the coaches and the point on the line where they happen, but I would be grateful to anyone who could make (sensible and polite) suggestions, any selected will have credit given.
I will post screenshots of the activities (and comments) in this thread but do not anticipate a quick release (afterall, I'm trying to build a route at the same time!)

Hope you would like to download the activities when ready, but I may release one as a taster before the pack is created.
Diolch Yn Fawr,
Dale Williams.

As promised, here is a selection of screenies from activity number one:

Welsh Pony awaits departure at Harbour station.

Approaching the advanced starter, Welsh Pony steams along nicely!

Approaching Minffordd we see two other trains, having already passed a slate train moments before!

At Rhiw Goch we pass the down service train hauled by Taliesin.

A paying photographer's eye view of the train below Tan-Y-Bwlch.

What the passengers in the buffet car see.

And last but not least! The recently returned to traffic Kerr Stuart Diesel hauls a (too) heavy train into TYB. (Yes I know that it would nt cope with this train, but that is the fun of MSTS so no complaints please!)

Next time we will see some of the passengers' comments!

Now for an important anouncement!
I have need of some activity testers, and would like to put out a call to members who have FR V2.0 and all of the FR/WHR stock. Would anyone be interested in helping test these (there will be more than one!) activities?
If people wish to help, I will PM them when I'm ready for testers.
Diolch Yn Fawr,
Dale Williams.

In the above screnshots I have Welsh Pony hauling a six coach train by itself, having only just got to TYB with this consist I have decided that I need to add another engine to help the old girl out, for this reason, Russell, the WHR Stalwart has been hired by the FR for a period of one month to help with the photographic charters, unfortunately though, due to its size Russell can only run as far as TYB so for charters above TYB, Welsh Pony will go solo with a Four coach rake, the other two being left at TYB with Russell. I'm now off to find my passengers and get their ever so funny (and appropriate) comments!

Your Garratt seems to have started moving off-shed leaving it's wheels behind! :D

...or can Boston Lodge's boiler-trolleys now take the weight of a fitted-out boiler with cab mounted too?

It's supposed to be undergoing overhaul of its bogie untis, unfortunately there is no MSTS consist (type thingy) which consists of the Jacks that would be required to keep the loco like that, so you'll have to imagine that they're there! Its funny to se it like that though, especially when running quite slowly, sounds like the boiler is being tested!

Hi all,

I'm back, I went on holiday a fortnight ago but it went slightly awry! I ended up in Ysbyty Gwnedd (Welsh speackes feel free to translate) so I've not been able to do any work on the activities, so I'd like to apologise to the testers for not replying to their E-Mails, I'll resend the files tomorrow for you.

If anyone was in Minffordd Hostel over the weekend of the 23/24 Oct, I was the one what got sick! I went oer there to help Parks and Gardens with the October Gigabash, but fell ill Tuesday Night, felt slightly better Wednesday morning but in the afternoon, I became really bad and started finding it difficult to breathe, my older brother took me to Ysbyty Bron-Y-Garth who saw that I was in pain (my chest hurt like ****) so I was transferred to Bangor where I spent FIVE days attatched to a drip! I missed the fun over the weekend! (Life is NEVER fair to me!)
Anyway, back to normal now so I will continue writting the activities and getting them tested!

Dale Williams.

Hopefully have part one available soon, have just uploaded.

Enjoy!

Incedentaly, to the people who volunteered to test the activity, I'm sorry that I could not send you the file but I have now used Route riter to fix the file!
If you are all still willing I would like to send parts 2+3 to you for testing before their releases

William,

No matter, another to the ranks of trainz but thats personal choice. Have you actually uploaded anything for MSTS yet anyways?

Chris

Not the place for MSTS .vs. Trainz discussion, nipping the potential flamer topic in the bud before it begins.
