Wow. That looks fantastic. :)
Reminds me very much of the Peak District.

Thanks chaps ! Slow work though as the walls take aaages !

It is a drivers route with sharp curves and some very steep gradients esp up to the dam. and yes.. lots and lots of shunting. I spent most of one night just playing about in the dam area.

More pics soon of some of the middle bit beyond Low Moor water treatment works where the line moves into a steeper sided valley. Just haven't quite decided on the scenery and special features up there. so far though we have

Flaxenby - the market town
The Devonshire Estate sawmill
High Trees Hotel & River Usk
Low Moor Water treatment works, where the old line to Husthwaite has been taken up at present
.... blank space
High Moor Tarn (which still needs some atmosphere)
Summit Halt where the line branches to (eventually) A. Thursley & Son Quarry ( which will provide stone for the dam)
or goes onto the main dam
at the dam there is
Works Site A - the foundary etc
Works Site B - the overspill entry(and workmans village once its built)
Works site C - the overspill channel and exit
Works Site D - (this is going to be hard to build) the Reservoir Keepers House
Works Site E - Scour Valve and Compensation Overflow
Works Site F - The Cement Mixer plant and possible where Carriages, and locosheds are located.

If you search on Angram Reservoir or Scarhouse Reservoir using Google you will see the sort of effect I am trying to achieve.

and still it goes on ....

well, joined up the south and north of the route now so we have a complete route of sorts. Still needs work but I anticipate a 80mB scenery so I guess it'll have to be via CD as I have no capacity to upload that sort of size.

Pleased with it but its aweful slow progress as so much hand building has to take place.

Thanks - that I shall do.

had a bit of a rethink of the dam area last night. Thats the trouble. As I get more experianced at route building I keep back over "done" areas to make them better.

pitleyfalley - Would it be ok to send you a version soon to check out it works ok on somebodies computer other than mine.

I am getting near the stage when a 2nd opinion woudl be most welcome. I also have a big texture / model list to build to send for permissions.

Hi Mate

Looks wonderful, and looks great for pottering around. Can I suggest you use some of the trees from this site?http://sweb.cz/greenery/mstsg/mstsg.htm
They are great and will make a change from the monotonous and rather boring default trees.

(dont forget to keep constant backups  )
Good Luck

:D At last we have scenery all of the way

Click the image to zoom in

This is the load screen I have designed but I can't get it to work yet ! Whats the format for a load screen.

OK so lets start at Flaxenby. Note the new station building...

Click the image to zoom in

leaving the staion we cross over Askam Gill

Click the image to zoom in

the prevoius post contained some of the scenery but here is a shot of the dales anyway ...

Click the image to zoom in

and again ...

Click the image to zoom in

then we cross the River Usk on one of the new bridges

Click the image to zoom in

and arrive at Low Moor water treatment works, the home of the Ripon and Thirsk water company and the R&TLR

Click the image to zoom in

after that we pass, eventually High Moor Farm

Click the image to zoom in

and cross the Thirlowe Beck to arrive at Thirlowe Beck Halt

Click the image to zoom in

continuing north we cross the Thirlowe Beck twice as it runs down the narrow dale close beside the R&TLR

Click the image to zoom in

the summit is reached

Click the image to zoom in

before a mile or so downhill, arriving at the dam

Click the image to zoom in

here is a top shot of the dam area,

Click the image to zoom in

which still needs some work and has been extensively rebuilt 3 times but feels right now with a lot of possibilities but not just random tracks !!

Click the image to zoom in

I will send some CD's to folks if they would like a go at a beta version. It still needs alot of work but I am getting there. Trouble is my new aeroplane

Click the image to zoom in

keeps tempting me to go flying instead.

So if you are interested email me an address. First 5 emails get a copy to test but you must be prepared to send me ideas and help as it is very rough and ready.

Cheers
