No Joy Chaps

Downloaded fine, Installed as Per Instructions... Load MSTS... Click "Drive A Train" - up comes the old "Send/Don't Send" Error Message...

Remove FR Route, and MSTS works fine...

Route loads fine in RE and AE...

Tried to locate problem - replacing "tsection.dat" results in MSTS loading fine.. but can't fine the route...

Conclusion: theres something up with Tsection.dat... could someone send me a replacement?

Bruce,
I have e-mailed you a copy of the original tsection.dat file.

Not sure what the problem is here. Has anybody successfully installed the patch ok?

Cheers

Thanks Kevin, Ian mailed me one to and I tried it with no success...

In the end I went right back to square one, took everything (including MSTS) out and started from scratch. Reinstalled MSTS, installed my original FR v1.0 Download file and then updated to to v1.1 and finally v2.0.

All now works fine! Must have been something up with my original FR install... (no idea what though).

Many Thanks for helping out, Brill Route - Love the Ladybirds at Tanygrisiau, even If I did slide past them twice trying to play the Down Train Act with Mountaineer!

Well Done All... sooo whens Version 3 due...

Hi Folks,

Sorry for all the problems... we did test it honest!

On my machine I had no 'send/don't send' errors nor any missing textures (checked with Route Riter as well); so I have no idea why other people are seeing the errors.

Wishing I could be more helpful,

Batroost (:evilbat:)

Thanks, I have the v2.0 upgrade up and running now. Route-Riter did report it had copied a couple of default files when I checked the route, but I do not fully trust my Route-Riter setup since I set up the 'Common' folder.

I only had time to climb up to Penrhyn last night, but it looks very nice so far. I enjoyed seeing the sprinter passing under tracks.

I did, however, spot a couple of problems that were also in v1.0:

1) The Transit vans have partly exploded during the rescaling process

2) some other road vehicles have an off-centre axis, so they collide with traffic going the other way

3) cars crash half through the gate at Penrhyn level crossing.

hello I'm back...sorry I've been kinda busy...

Anyways, the files I was missing were:
tree7.ace
tree5.ace
tree11.ace
tree4.ace
tree8.ace
treemd.ace

And those are for: Spring, Springsnow, autumn, autumnsnow, winter, wintersnow

But something peculiar that I'm missing are two files from the Global folder:
ACleanTrack1.ace
ACleanTrack2.ace

and then I'm also missing a shape file! Dummy_7MStraight.s

I was able to copy over most of the .ace files from the Europe1 route, with the exception of a couple of treemd.ace files and the ACleanTrack1.ace + ACleanTrack2.ace files. Dunno how the rest of your guys are fairing but this is getting rather annoying :-? Could someone help me get those remaining files please?

Evan,

Not really sure whats going on, here.
I have just tried reinstalling the route and have had no problems. All the missing files you mention are there on my setup.

The acleantrack1.ace and acleantrack2.ace should not be in the global folder! They should be in the texture folder of the route.

Acleantrack.1 is the texture file for the sleepers and acleantrack2.ace is the texture file for the track. Both are available for download from this site. The acleantrack1.ace is also available from the Ffestiniog railway site. You can copy these from another route if you wish.

Two other thoughts come to mind :-

You are not trying to upgrade from the alpha 1.1 (or 1.2) version and not the original alpha 1.0 version? This would give problems if you try and do this.

Are you trying to upgrade a copy of the route where you have made your own alterations. This may give problems as well.

Ian,

We really will get those fixed for the next version !

Mike,

Will have to let Colin answer the question on activities as he is the expert on this.

I'm pretty sure that I had V1.1 and then upgraded to V2.0...though I'm not entirely sure. I might have had V1.0...I can't remember.

And yes the errors said int he Global folder...however, both of those files were found in the FFest route folder.

And it couldn't possibly be the second possibility you mentioned cos I never edited the route at all. (I only made activities)

What would you recomend me doing? Should I buy the CD and just install the complete V2.0 instead of the upgrade?

Evan,

Seeing the problems you are having, I feel you would be better getting hold of the V2.0 CD.

I do have to point out, though, (knowing you were a bit scathing about the alpha 1.0 route) that the scenery between Tanygrisiau and Bl Ffestiniog is still uncompleted!

Kevin,
Have you recieved the E-Mail I sent you a couple of weeks back? Just wondering as I would really like the FR V2.0 to run along, as the screenshots I have seen look wonderful but I still can't find my password from V1/1.1!

Hi Dale,

I haven't received any e-mails from you.
I'm not actually involved with the distribution of the route (which is being handled by the Ffestiniog).

I suggest that you contact the Ffestiniog again at :-

frtrainsim(at)festrail.co.uk (change the (at) for @)

and explain you are still waiting for a link.

Might also be worth checking your spam folder (if you have one) to make sure that the reply hasn't been diverted there.

Cheers

Sorry Kevin, I meant Ian, (forgot to check my PMs first
Any how, I've emailed the festrail guys with hope. Don't know when I'll get a reply though. I can't wait to get my computer's sillicon chips into the upgrade it'll be nice to see some more scenery, and hopefully recreate one of my best FfR photos:
