These are from the Talyllyn railway website. Here is the article.

The new boiler for loco No.4 (Edward Thomas/Peter Sam) arrived at the Railway at about 11.30 on February 19th. It was met by diesel No.8 and No. 4's rolling chassis, and placed straight onto the frames. It is now residing in the back of the loco shed for the workshop staff to put it all back together. These photos, taken by John Bilsbury, show the work now underway.

Hopefully not long now! :D :D :D :D

Fantastic news, im glad to see No.4 getting back together, I guess it wont be too long now to assemble the loco and steam test it all. Do we know if the boiler has a ticket yet?

Great to see it progressing, I hope it's ready by August. Not that it really matters.

oh yes! :o I can't believe I forgot... ...I do hope that they turn "Duncan" back into "Douglas" when "Peter Sam" is all fixed up. Maybe bring out an "Ivo Hugh" to replace the overworked "Duncan", no?
((Hey I can dream can't I?))

Yep, that's Dolgoch behind Edward Thomas. Behind that I think is Tom Rolt? Or is it Talyllyn?

John

P.S. Just seen your new post. I hope they don't TTTEify it before August 23rd. I wouldn't might seeing the real Edward Thomas, having only seen the TTTE one.

If you look closely behind Dolgoch you can see another pair of cab windows and the side of a coal bunker/water tank?

Loco 4 came to Wharf this afternoon (Sunday 9th May) at about 1430 under her own steam, and later went up the line as far as Hendy. Loco 9 was attached as a brake tender. The engine is still a very minimalist delight, being sans lagging, tank, cab (except for driver's side bunker to carry the reversing lever) &c., &c. Many thanks to Phil Wheeler for the photos below.

Excellent News! Looks very strange without the saddle tanks though :)
I didn't know engines could travel without their water tanks.
I was wondering this too :-?

Cheers
