Yes, but it's not short for anything so you are just wasting space by putting an apostrophe there! The word is not 'Cheer Is'.
My computer specs are there for the benefit of problem solving, so I don't have to type them up. It is are . because unlike you I don't care what they look like as long as the Waitrose.com one stands out.

I need to make something clear: when I said that I don't like weasels I was in no shape or form referring to Mike Wilson (sp762). It had completely escaped me that his workshop is called 'Weasel Works'. I was thinking of totally different people, nothing to do with Mike or MSTS at all! Sorry Mike!

I may not like weasels but I do like the products of the Weasel Works very much. I hope that clears it up!

Hello,

My name is Colin Tucker. I'm 37 and live in Suffolk where I work as a Physicist/Nuclear Safety Engineer at Sizewell B Nuclear Power Station.

I've been visiting the FR since I was (I think) eleven years old and was a volunteer guard for a number of years. Presently lapsed but managed to try it again for a week in September '03 so hope to re-qualify.

I'm married to Lynette, who's father (John Harrison - 'Lord North') was Station Master at TYB in the '70's. We met whilst both working on teh FR. We have two children, Alison (10) and Michael (6), both keen FR volunteers.

The only MSTS route I've tried to build has been the FR; though not on my own of course - lots of help from Kevin Martin and others. Some of you will probably have seen the alpha version floating around. Like many other people I find that finishing these projects is a lot more work than I originally envisaged. It's made little progress in the past few months but hope to get a bit more done shortly.

Likes:

The FR... and a few other railways
Bats (yes, really - avatar is a Daubentons)
Nuclear Power Stations
Babylon 5
Robert Rankine novels.

Dislikes:
Football, rugby, cricket, tennis, snooker, athletics, swimming (you see a pattern?)
Shopping - anywhere.

Regards,

Batroost

Hi,

I'm Richard Southey and I'm 22. I graduated from Birmingham Uni last summer with a Computer Science degree. At the moment I'm still working for Sainsbury's where I'm in charge of the News and Magazines department, while actively looking for a 'proper' job :)

I've been interested in railways for basically my entire life, with a major interest in narrow gauge - especially the Welsh variety :)

I volunteer for the WHR(C) and have just come back from a week gauge widening in the cold and wet weather of Snowdonia :) I am also in the process of become a volunteer on my local railway, the SVR.

I haven't managed to model anything in MSTS yet, although I keep trying :) I have built many NG models for Rail3D though, but I better no mention them in here 8)

Some Likes

Welsh NG railways
Travelling to preserved railway accessable by public transport.
The SVR, because it links two great pubs together (mmm... Bathams)

Some Dislikes

Food shopping
Sainsbury's - I work there 32 hours a week, I know what its like.

Cheers

Richard

Richard,

If you plan your day well and get on the right trains, you can begin drinking at Kiddy, drink in the on train buffet to B'north, do a pub crawl of Bridgnorth (high town is better than low town for pubs IMHO) then repeat the process in reverse back down the line.... *apparently *

Sounds good :)

I've not been into Bridgnorth to drink before, normally drink too much in the Railwaymans Arms...

I went up to the Diesel Gala last autumn and did something similar though. I drank way to much that day

Cheers

I am Bryan, I am 47 and a Systems Administrator for a outsourcing company. I am married with two children and I live in Dorset.

I volunteer at the GWS at Didcot (I have been making notes on the members that dislike the GWR) where I do most things. I am also a volunteer cleaner at Swanage a couple of times a month.

Currently playing a (quite small) part in the building of the Piddington Light Railway. Also loosing quite a large amount of hair trying to create realistic activities where large amounts of shunting occur!

Likes: -
My wife and children
Anything that runs on steam (even Mamod engines!)
Science Fiction (films and books)
Computers
Beer and getting very drunk.

Dislikes: -
Engines that will not couple on the front coupler.
Anybody who tries to make everybody think like they do.
People who drive down the road with The Grateful Dead’s sound system playing in their cars. (For those who remember The Grateful Dead)

I must admit, like one of the earlier posts, whenever I have been to the SVR, I have never made it past the Enginemans Arms at Bridgenorth Station.
Cheers,
Bryan. :D

Hi

I must be one of the oldest on this NG forum!! I am really a sad old case or what!! Anyway, in the real world, I am a freelance writer and computer consultant for those wishing to migrate from Windows to Linux. I am also the UK News Editor for Narrow Gauge World Magazine for the past five years and author of a couple of Isle of Man Railway books and hundreds of articles in other UK railway and modelling magazines. You have all probably read some junk I have penned in the past under my own name or one of my pen names.

Of course, the Isle of Man is my favourite, but there are many other wonderful NG railways out there and I love to visit and ride on many of the UK NG railways when ever I can. I do my best to promote NG and MSTS in UK magazines, but I have to admit, they are not really interested in MSTS yet - they don't really understand it !!

I see life a little different to most people as I was nearly killed in a serious car accident twenty years ago. I was helped to recover by a American Indian nurse, and she taught me there is a different way to the Western lifestyle to live and I now live each day as if it could be my last, and nothing really bothers me. Peace and inner calm are the most important things in life to me.

Name: David Lloyd-Jones (parents Welsh, but I was born on the Isle of Man for my sins)
Age: 44
Date of Birth: Thursday 4th March 1960 - yep it was my birthday last week folks
Height: 6ft 1in
Inside Leg: 32"
Shoe size: 9
School: Ramsey Grammar School - many moons ago
Club(s): orange and mint flavours
Favourite Famous Person: Sitting Bull

Likes:

* Women - tall, slim, sexy and French
* Chocolate - Dairy Milk Mmmmmmmm
* Computers - Linux only (no spam or viruses or the blue screen of death!)
* Good food - French, Chinese and Indian
* Peace & quite - bliss........
*Anything that runs on rails (apart from curtains) especially narrow gauge.
* Most music – including all the modern stuff (just playing Nickleback)

Dislikes:

* British women (mostly lazy, fat money grabbers more interested in a guy's bank account than him)
* Microsoft and Bill Gates - Windows is the biggest rip off in History
* Mobiles - worst thing ever invented apart from Windows XP
* TV - never watch the darn thing
* Junk food
* People who drive 4x4 and mid life crisis sports cars wearing Colin McRae sunglasses
*Jazz music – Zzzzzzzzzzzzzz although Nora Jones is quite fit
* Annoying train spotters, who think they know it all, but are in fact clueless - do your reseach first before opening your mouths !!

Supermarket(s): Strange question !! but mainly M&S & Tesco for organic food
Religion: Buddhist
Pets: one sexy French lady
Favourite Car: one that starts and has a decent CD player!
Current Cars: Citroen Picasso

Well that was a bit diffrent huh?
