If you decide to do it No 10 would be very good!

Heya Steve,

Thats looking very good! Well done. My only thought is that the red should be a little darker, more like LMS crimson lake, although it could just be the way my PC is showing it. Are you going to put the intracate blue lining on it that it carries at the moment?

No.8 was the first TR diesel that I drove lol, lovely engine, hydrostatic transmission. I seem to recall one of the MSTS diesels allows any throttle value between 0-100, the other is in 20% steps, would it be possible to use the 0-100 one thus mirroring the real thing more closely? It should also have a class 47 horn to be totally accurate *cough* No.8's is borrowed from a class 47  *cough*

No. 8 was the only TR diesel I never drove! Don Southgate used to consider it as his personal transport. I liked No. 9 best.

Thanks for the comments. The colouring is difficult to get right - I've had it in 5 shades of red so far - working from pictures is tricky. I should have taken my own shot back in Sept when she was sitting in Wharf !!
I didn't spot any intricate blue lining in my piccies :o
I was intending to have a go at a specific CabView for No8 so I could tweak the throttles as you suggest. However, the cabview is a new experience for me and proving a bit of a steep learning curve. I will probably release the model with a default CabView and then patch it with a Merseysider specific one when I'm ready.
I asume there is a class 47 horn available from this site somewhere that I could "borrow"?? :D

That should give a good idea for the colour. THe blackl areas are lined with a very thin line of sky blue to pick it out. Also on the TR site is a view of the cab controls, might be usefull for later.

The twins stood by the loco look scarily like Dave Scotson! o

Have you seen the latest pictures of No8 at Wharf on the TR web news pages?

Ah yes I hadn't realised that. Well I'm not sure what No. 8 was doing up at Wharf as both times we went there Merseysider was at Wharf but by the last train was back up at Pendre :o

It looks as though the TR prefer to run No8 the "wrong way roound" :D
At least every picture I've seen has her facing Tywyn and not Aber !
