No problem :). We got a screenie to look at out of it, so i'm not complaining ;).

Nice looking quarry complex :). It'd be nice there with one of your inclines ;)

Er.. Yeh..
Some inclines? no problem. The main focus however, are going to be some mines which you can explore.

Great stuff...how will the mines be done? Just tunnel tracks, or 'outside' railway and scenery covered with a 'ceiling'?

The mine/quarry will be a covered and scenic affair, inspired by the great open slate caverns in North Wales. There are (as far as I can see) only two ways of doing this.
First, as used by “Snipperâ€

Second and I think this may be my preferred method, are to build a roof to the caverns using a number of shapes (MSTS does not seem to mind weather shapes are touching the ground, each other or anything at all!) hanging in the sky. This method also allows me to keep the water visible and use it in some flooded caverns!
Thats the thing I was thinking ;)

That seems like the best option, yes.

A shot of the final lay out at Piddington (minus scenery) and a seriously overworked quarry at Penny Hassett.

Ok guys.
This shot has been made using method one above; I have liberally thrown rocks and boulders along the back wall and a few on the roof although many more may be needed to complete the picture, also some industrial clutter could be strewn around. What do you think?

Some shots of Piddington station and yard. I have added a factory at Piddington, although quite what they produce and pack into those boxes is a mystery. I have spent much time browsing through the default scenery (using Decapod’s shape viewer) with a view to using as much of it as possible, this is to try and keep the eventual download size small. I have run the route through RouteRiter, something I do frequently, trying various options and am at the moment getting a size of around 8000k. I know that this will undoubtedly go up but I do like to keep an eye on it.
The Quarry has been levelled “literallyâ€

Hi Andrew,

I was busy last night extending the SWLR to "Trafalgar Pit" - it's made a nice change from the Easterham branch line. Some questions about the mine - did you build your own rocks?

What about lighting underground?

Route's looking good, BTW :D

The rock shapes came from the Ffestiniog route; I then changed their shape again using “S.F.M.â€
