Welsh Highland Railway Loco No. 140

Post by BruceB »

Hi All,

I've been frantically trying to get back into the swing of things following a personal hic-up (don't ask okay ).

Some of you may Remeber No.139 - screenshots of which are somewhere in the depths of this forum. Well I spotted her the other day in my MSTS foldered looking a bit sorry for herself. So I gave her a clean lit the Fire and took her for a spin. This provided me with enough motivation to spend a very late night perparing her for a release out into the open. So as we speak she is on her way to the WHR

Meanwhile, back at the Paintshops sister 140 was in need of a tidy up and finish off before finally being ready for her first photo shoot.

Two versions will be in the same install: One in her present condition with 'ACR' lettering and a South African Numberplate, The other in the condition she may be restored to with 'WHR' lettering and a Rheilffordd Eryri Number Plate.

Once again, Big Thanks To Kevin Martin for letting me pursure this project and being highly supportive :)

Eh?

Do you mean the Kalahari NG15's, which are from South Africa?

yes the NG15s ran in South Africa, but Im sure they were built in Belgium. WHR C has two which I remember seeing in a field at Pickering before their purchase by the WHR, and doesn't WHR P have one too?

The NG15's were built in Belgium (1953 I think). They are on my list of things to do but as always no dates can be given as to when they will be available.

Cheers

The WHR ( C ) has No.133 and 134, both at Dinas. The WHR ( P ) has No.120, named Bedgelert :)

When She's Ready

Both Kevin and myself felt that 140's first coat was a bit 'bright' so I've applyed a second more toned down shade.

Its okay you can put the sunglasses away now 8)
