Weather or not?

Post by smudge5609 »

Just a question for the narrow gauge people! I been experimenting a bit with weathering, never had much luck with it until now. Do people like their stock shiny and new or old and dirty?

Got a few spare buckets of clag to throw over them if you like...................

I tend to tone down some of the stock I download slightly to achieve a harmonious result.........this is NOT criticism of others products, just that the various graphics cards/monitors etc out there result in varying degrees of "reality" ON MY SYSTEM(s)..........

In the same vein, know someone who's TV has the colour turned up so that pale European flesh tones are bright red............nothing wrong with the set, I have tried adjusting it....they turn it back....that's the way they see the world...................... who am I to argue??!! :-?

Your wagons look really good to me, and the weathering is subtle but obvious......but I still go with the issue both options camp!!!

All I can tell you is that where I have issued Clean and Dirty versions, the dirty ones tend to be downloaded more.............

I think that you missed out an option on that poll. We could do with one for both I sometimes like to run clean stock but sometimes the weathered ones are more appropriate. So there you have it.

Looking at all the people sitting on the fence, I think I will include both weathered and sparkly clean in one installer. Then you then choose to run the stock as prototype or preserved! It should only add about 300k to the installer and so it isn't a bit overhead really.
