Building A True Scale Route, Questions.

Post by andrewgadd »

I am quite prepared to build a simple true scale NG route, along the lines of one or two tiles, so that we have a quick new route to put some of this marvellous new stock on.
But I need some advice?
Is there a track texture out there that makes the true scale NG track by Tim Bridge look good? In fact some of the sections I loaded don’t even match each other, some coming from the default track!
Are there any more true scale NG track sections available out there, the few that I have from Tim’s two downloads are very limited and although not impossible to build with is, at the very least, bloody difficult.

Right, with a bit of thought I’ve managed to sort out the textures for UK Scale NG.
Still need to get the shapes sorted out; even the ones in Tim’s package don’t appear as long as the wireframe.

You will need to make a at least one path, even if it's just to test your route really works.

I think that the latest version of Xtracks include some improvements to the UKNG textures, but I'm not 100% sure. Perhaps you can ask Okrasa on the Xtracks forum?

XTracks narrow gauge is a different set of shapes to the ones I'm working with here.

UK Scale NG "2ft"
XTracks "3ft"

However I do intend to ask him about the shape problems.
Thanks.

The latest X-tracks includes 2'4" narrow gauge which seems to have a fair texture, not that I have experimented beyond a little tinkering in RE.

I’ve changed My Mind!!!

Sorry guys but I have just discovered the floating track syndrome.
I really don’t think I can build any route that look that bad.
I will just carry on with my x2 NG line, its quite an original idea, maybe post some screen shots of it soon.

The latest XTracks 3.7 includes Tim's UK Narrow Gauge sections but with the floating point syndrome fixed
