Glyn Valley Tramway Rolling Stock
Hi All,
Seeing as it looks like a GVT route is underway, I thought that as a small project I would build some rolling stock to compliment the locos! Anyway know of a source for any drawings or good photogaphs of the stock?
Cheers, Chris

I have 4mm/ft drawings of the following GVT rolling stock:
I can scan these if you like, and send them over to you.
Hope this helps
- * 'The Baldwin' - Not too useful by the looks of it

* 4 styles of 4 wheel coaches:
Third, (Semi) Open, Third (with strange curvy roof), Open with end 'balconies'
* Sir Theodore - obviously done already
* Brake Van (No. 3 & 4)
* Goods Van (No. 1 & 2)
* Granite Wagon
* Slate Wagon
I can scan these if you like, and send them over to you.
Hope this helps

Hi, Thanks Guys...
I forgot all about the Baldwin Kevin was building. Looking good so far though.
Rich, I would be grateful if you could scan any of the drawings and upload them for me. Not sure if that is the complete stock list or not, although there couldn't of been a great deal really!
Cheers, Chris

The best source of GVT locos, carraiges and goods stock drawings is in the GVT book by John Milner (its currently out of print, but a new version is expected to be published very soon). I also have the definitive guide to the GVT coaches published by the GVT Group, which again has excellent drawings.
If anybody wants any scans of drawings from these books, then please give me a shout at the e-mail address below.
Cheers

GVT Carriage and Rolling stock notes:
The G.V.T. carriage stock consisted of a motley selection of four wheeled coaches. Some of the two compartment 1st & 3rd and open thirds were very popular during the summer months. These 'Pneumonia specials', were really just posh open wagons with a primitive roof and hard wooden slatted seats for sixteen passengers. The GVT owned fourteen carriages and two oddities all originated from the Midland Railway Carriage and Wagon Co. Ltd. of Shrewsbury. This company also supplied the two 4ton closed vans and two brake vans.
Most trains were mixed, and one of the two brake vans was always to be found at the end of every train. As with the Talyllyn railway, tickets from the intermediate stations were sold from these brake vans. At it's peak the G.V.T. had 258 wagons of which 180 were 4ton three planked drop side granite wagons. Twenty of these were private owner, being the property of the Ceiriog Granite Co. Ltd. The remainder were a selection of 2ton opens, 2 ton slate, tar wagons and bolster wagons.
Hope that helps.

We now know that this is no where near a complete stock list, but there's my contribution:
Sheet 1 - 135KB
Sheet 2 - 105KB
These a quite large (I possibly had the scanner DPI set a bit to high
), but have a scale marked on them, so shouldn't be to much of a problem to sort out
Cheers
