When running round a train, you have to be carefull not to go too far. If yu do you effectivley go into the next section of line by passing the home signal. This means that when you back up onto your train, you go into the section the train is in because you have gone so far running round, as there is already a train in this section you do a SPAD.
Try only just clearing the points.

If you keep going (slowly) until the reverse point on the track monitor just disappears it should all work OK. If you stop too short, the signalling will get confused.
On the down train activity, you'll have to stop and wait for Earl of Merioneth to enter platform 2 and clear the secation ahead of you. You have to go past the shunt to reach the reverse point on this activity, as if you place a reverse point between points and the user train goes past the set of points after the reverse point (thats a lot of points in one sentance
) MSTS will think you've left the path and the signalling will go belly up. Nothing to do with this route, just another feature of MSTS signalling...
On the up train activity at Port, you should have to run just a little way past the last set of points at the station, but not as far as the first signal on the cob.

The Englands at Dduallt are perfectly OK, there is still a token instrument at Dduallt for the very purpose of being able to lock trains in the siding.Batroost wrote:
Merddin Emrys appears twice in the activity - once at Boston Lodge and once at Tanygrisiau. Neat trick. And I don't think it's legal to pass at Tanygrisiau - there is no token station here so you've got two trains in the TYB-BL.Ff section at the same time. Mary Ann is OK as she is clearly locked into the shunt; similarly the Englands at Dduallt though both give a practical problem on how the token got back to TYB...

That isn't what happened. I was doing the DOWN train activity. The UP went fine
(until my computer froze ~_~)
I'm akling about heading back down to Port
I tried to go to just past the switches but before I even got ON the switches "ACTIVITY ENDED"

HELP! *smashes computer against the wall*

There is a ground signal just before you get to the points at the end of the platform, opposite the signal on the end of platform 3. You can't pass this signal until Earl of Merioneth has entered platform 2 as you have to run out onto the single track section of line beyond the station in order to run around.sillyevan27 wrote:I tried to go to just past the switches but before I even got ON the switches "ACTIVITY ENDED"
The path is set for Earl of Merioneth at the start of the activity so you can run up alongside your train but will the have to stop and wait for a couple of minutes. If you run around slowly, by the time you have pulled up at the ground signal, EOM should just be appearing in the distance.
The ide is, EOM is an extra train laid on for the bank holiday, causing you to have to wait to run around the train at Blaneau and therefore you will end up leaving Blaneau a couple of minutes late, which means you will have to concentrate to arrive at Tan-Y-Bwlch on time without exceeding the speed limit.
Don't worry, I didn't spot it first time around either
Good luck!

I've just uploaded version 1.1a of this activity pack.
Changes are as suggested earlier and include:
Merridin Emrys now appears only once in the up activity (and Livingston Thompson has been sent back to York)
Modern trains now have observation carriages on the bottom end
Static trains removed from Tanygrisaeu so that the activities are more prototypically correct
Warning message ar the start of the down activity about the ground signal (so that you don't wonder why the activity ends when you pass a red signal you didn't see
)
I'd strongly reccomend that everybody who downloaded the first version updates to the new version ASAP.
I'm still working on geting station stops at Port (on th up train) and Blaneua (on the down train), but am not having much success so far...

Hi all,
Just to let you know I'll be doing an updated version of these activities to run with version 2 of the route in the near future. I've downloaded the update today and will have a bash tonight, but it will probably be a couple of days before it is done.
Cheers,
Paul
