In the activity editor, select the appropriate water tank (the little blue wavey lines) and right click on them. Select Properties... and you can then set the amount of water in the tank. They all default to 0% so they won't do anything unless you increase this number.

Still testing the special down train activity, but now its time for ...

I've just uploaded the pair of activities and they are now awaiting approval.

Both seem to be robust - I haven't managed to break them yet (but if you go out of your way to miss the timetable you may have problems).

Hope you all enjoy and if you think they are good enough for inclusion in the next patch, please go ahead Colin (let me know if you want any files emailed directly to you).

Maybe not, but I certainly was :)!

If anybody finds any problems, let me know either here, by PM or direct email...

I too have uploaded my "You Can't Win!" activity  Since my computer isn't the best in the world I have yet to actually COMPLETE the run from Port to T-y-B ~_~
It keeps freezing  But hopefully others will have lots of fun with it.

I was confused on where exactly to upload it to! To the Ffestiniog Catagory...or the ThomastheTankEngine Catagory... :-? :-?
I chose the ffestiniog, however I put it under: Activity-Ffestiniog/Sodor :)Since there may be more in the furture :D 8)

Paul,

Have just downloaded the activities many thanks. Nice storyline. On unpackaging I got quite a few requests to overwrite Paths, Services and Consists - could you give us an idea of what's changed here so that I know whether to go ahead. Note that I've probably changed my paths/consists as well - just to compicate things - but I can try unpacking on a fresh copy of the Alpha1.1 if you can't remember what you've changed.

I like the idea of starting at the water tower and runnig around, looks good. Could we have a departure time from Port on the timetable?

Merddin Emrys appears twice in the activity - once at Boston Lodge and once at Tanygrisiau. Neat trick. And I don't think it's legal to pass at Tanygrisiau - there is no token station here so you've got two trains in the TYB-BL.Ff section at the same time. Mary Ann is OK as she is clearly locked into the shunt; similarly the Englands at Dduallt though both give a practical problem on how the token got back to TYB...

Can I suggest that the modern consists could now include an Observation coach at the bottom end?

Best wishes and keep up the good work,

Batroost (:evilbat:)

You need the updated MSTS Tools patch from the MS website and (I think) you have to extract the files from Winzip first - I've had problems before trying to use the files straight from winzip...

Before I packaged the route, I installed you new paths for the Alpha 1.1 and updated all of the services, so it should be safe to overwrite the paths (for users who don't yet have your new paths it should just upgrade those paths to your new version).

There are two new consists which are the carriages that you run around onto at the start of each journey, other than that the other consists are not changed, from those supplied with the 1.1 patch.

Similarly with the services. There are probably 5 services for the traffic pattern (2 for up and 3 for down). The up services are as supplied with the route, the down services are all new (I've tried to arrange the orders so that the two activities are consistant i.e. you pass Taliesin at Minnfordd on the way up and then again at Tanygrisiau on the way down, see later).

It should be safe to overwrite all of these as the new paths, consists and services have new names and the others are unchanged from thoe supplied with the patch or, in the case of the paths, the new batch uploaded over the weekend. I'll update the download with a new ReadMe clarifying this (doh , completely missed out installation instructions).

Glad you like it, I just thought it was a reasonably realistic way of adding a bit of interest at the start. As for getting Port on the timetable, that is a little more tricky. If I place the reverse point a bit further back, I can add Port to the timetable. Trouble is you then have to shunt the carriages back a bit to clear the reverse point and you never seem to get an arrival time set, so you get a departure time, but no whistle to tell you when to go. Thats why in the briefing I put in the note about setting off straight away as the passenegers are already aboard.

I'll keep playing with this and see if I can make it work.

Doh , I thought I'd caught all of those. I know I removed it from Boston Lodge on the down trip, but I must have missed it on the up (it is replaced with Livingston Thompson on the down trip on a special visit from York ). I'll fix that in an updated version (would you prefer it replaced with LT or shall I send it back to York?).

I agree, Tanygrisiau and Dduallt are not realistic. This was an attempt to make the line look busier at the expense of realism (I didn't know the details, but suspected it was a little dodgy). I guess there are two choices there, leave it unrealistic but busy looking, or pull them and put the engines back at Boston Lodge. If you folks can let me know what you think, I'll implement any changes there in the updated version.

Very good idea, unfortunately the observation coach appeared on the FR website just after I uploaded the activities. I will certainly update these consists in the update. The question here is, updating the player stock is no problem, as they are new consists. All the other consists are defaults as supplied with the 1.1 patch so should I update those consists with observation cars (which would overwrite the consists supplied with the patch) or add new consists with the observation cars?

Sorry you're having problems. I'll upload an updated version as soon as I can with instructions on how to unpackage the activities. You should just be able to drag the activity files over TSUNPACK (that worked for me when I tested it).

The method I would suggest is to extract the files from the .zip archive then drage the activities one at a time to TSUNPACK (I have had problems in the past if I tried dragging more than one activity file at a time).

Let me know if this works for you. Colin / anybody else who has tried the activities, did they install OK for you?

I'll implement these changes as soon as I can (I'll try to upload them tonight so that the update is online within a couple of days).

Hey
after some much appreciated advice earlier I got all systems down and I think running. I tell you this route dont look half bad considering the state of building its in. I hope that we get some people on the platforms as whenever I have been particulary on Bank Holidays the place seems to be Heaving. Will the ultimate intention be to make the route as acuraate as possible which Will be heavy on the scenery and if so is it the intention to Put it on CD if so there is a great route and festiniog advertising tool in the making. Soe level crossings are getting a severe smashing From either the Drunken Welshmen (Sorry) or English Holigans visiting so a mumber of crossings have cars embeded in the gates. will remember next time to regularly go on the site as I had no idea there had been two upgrades

keep up the good work
cheers

Hmm...
How would you guys like a "Bulldog" activity :) This time I'm turning over a new leaf  I'd make the Awdry version of the account and then the REAL thing with Linda and Prince and mainly Ffestiniog stock :)

The only thing is, you don't derail!!
So is this a good idea? The paths would be the same so overwriting wouldn't be an issue :) But conists would be different

How could it be done? If you don't derail, what will happen in its place?
