Giant cows.... you're milking it! Dairy, Dairy me....?

Seriously though, I don't know how this has happened as the files in the alpha Zip have the same modified date as my originals.

A couple of questions:

- did you run the installme batch file as per the readme?
- did you have all of the default MSTS routes installed first?
- have you done anything fancy like compressing the route with route riter since?

You could try re-scaling them with SFM? If anyone else has the same problem (or any ideas please let me know).

On de-railments... I run the FR with options/derailments turned off - MSTS just doesn't seem able to cope with the route otherwise. If you haven't got it turned off then you may have an copy of Merddin or of the coaches?

More info on problems always appreciated.

Regards,

Batroost (:evilbat:)

Hope this works.. :-?

Linda in Blue ( CD only! ) prepares to leave Porthmadog with a short shuttle train for Minfford.

Looking out of the 1st coach acroos the Cob as our train gets under way.

Passing Boston Lodge, the cameraman reveals our second loco to be Mountaineer ( Green Version CD only )

Another photogapher quickly snsps the shuttle train as it accelerates past Boston Lodge.

The last shot of our train as it leaves Boston Lodge behind.

Moving on, the weather has turned for the worst. Our loco before, Mountaineer, has just hauled the last train of the day down from blaneu, and the coahes have been taken to Boston Lodge by Cricceth Castle.

Slowly, Mountaineer heads home to Boston Lodge. A days work over.

Mountaineer on the Cob.

Excellent work Batroost it really makes the locos work Taliesin had run out of coal by the time i'd got to Dduallt.

I am also suffering from the giant cows problem and there seems to be some nasty track work around minffordd top end points the train seems to jump up.

I've downloaded it! I never thought I could, MANY thankyous to GetRight.

Well I drove to Tanyblwych and I also encountered the giant cows near the cob. They really are
BIG!

Just a bit of humour, on Tanyblwych station platform there are 3 cats, the tabby one is very fat! :D

A brilliant route, I'd reccommend it to anyone! I'm off to continue the drive from Tanyblwych to Blaneau.

1) Yes
2) Yes
3) No, but my routes folder is compressed by deafult, to try and save on my disk space.

I really like this route, it gives a very refreshing change from the Talyllyn! I liked the Talyllyn but this is something different. Although, yes, some parts are bare (give it a chance its the Alpha) the sceneried parts are very good except, perhaps, the giant cows. Imagine the "moo" they'd make!

You know the townscape beyond Porthmadog station, it is a actually a model railway style wall but it does look very affective. It fooled me until, after I'd driven the route, I looked in the RE. Minfford is also very good, I like the crossing with the lights.

I hope the rest of the route will be to this quality and Batroost and Kevin have set a standard so high that routes one day in the future will look very realistic!

The Talyllyn was good but it was never properly sceneried. Sorry Steve but I have to say that it is bare, like parts of the FR but in Talyllyn V1.6 you need to put in much more scenery and objects. I had to say that, I'm afraid.

Well Done all the "Project Ffestiniog" :) team, I look forward to the beta!

I don't know, I don't know!

Maybe on the Isle of Sodor (which is where you namely com from :D) they are so jealous of proper railways they don 't let you have the realistic Ffes. :D :D j/k, Ok?

You need to use WinZip to extract the FfestiniogAlpha.zip file to C:/Program Files/Microsoft Games/Train Simulator/ROUTES then you need to open up the Ffestiniog folder and there is a file called Installme.bat which is a MS-DOS Batch file and is 3KB.

Otherwise try downloading it again if you have Bband or not if you don't.
I could send you Installme.bat if you like and Batroost says yes.

Don't forget the Isle of Man has more narrow gauge than you can wave a stick at. Steam - Diesel - Electric and even Horse power - Visitors most welcome...........
