Eeek....

Southwold is using totally non default textures... I am aiming to do the whole route with no default scenery items. :-? Not sure what the files are like ATM however there are a large number of buildings to do yet and most of them are going to use a pretty large number of texture files i would have thought. the terrtex files are going to be pretty big aswell.

Guess it will have to be a couple of zip files or CD Distribution.. but i shall deal with that nearer the time...

Why are the non default ace files so much bigger? If original game can get all 6 routes onto one CD?

Non default files aren't big, no bigger than any standard default texture. Its the distribution thats big. With non default textures you have to include them in the zip files and they don't zip very much. With default textures you can run route riter which deletes them from the route so when you install it they are copied from the 6 default routes. Basically saves you putting them into the zip files. Of course you can't do this with non default's.
Thats the only problem with zipping routes, everything like text files, world files, tiles and shapes zip up a treat but when you get the textures the MBs pile on!

Try using a download manager really useful if you dont have a reliable connection.

Can't wait to take Britomart and a couple of coaches up to Tan-y-bwlch.

The best download manager, that i've found is Getright. I think its http://www.getright.com, but you can get it at download.com (cnet) anyway.

Looking at previous screenshots, this looks like its going to be a superb route

It does go to Blaenau, it just gets sparser the further you go... come to think of it that's just like the real thing!

Seriously though, please don't expect miracles. Port-Minffordd scenery is almost complete. Penrhyn Station, Rhiw Goch + Cei Mawr are done. A few trees before Plas then more or less complete around to the Garnedd Tunnel. There is a basic Coed-y-Bleddiau and Campbells but Dduallt and teh spiral are just about complete. After that we really only have tracks, platforms and landscape (hills and lake). Even in the finished bits I want to do much more in cuttings, walls, small embankments and fences. The real FR is 170 years old so looks 'full-up' from any angle.

News soon I hope,

Not for a while at least. You should stop asking he will finish sooner if he doesn't have to tell you when he will finish it all the time.
