I have been thinking about dabbling with a NG route but am not sure which track to use and where to obtain in...
Ive installed XTracks for standard gauge and Im pleased with it but the additional NG sections listed in tsection.dat are not available to me...
Which is the best NG track to use and where can I obtain it from?

It depends on what gauge you want to model, and whether you want to run Narrow Gauge alongside Standard Gauge.
If you only want to run NG trains, then you are probably better off using the 2x Standards, and you can download the track from UK Trainsim.
Pro - there's a lot of stuff available to run on it
there are several routes in development or available
it seems to be the current popular choice.
Con - you do have to scale everything else up before you can use it.
Otherwise, if you want to run 3' Gauge trains, then you can use the ng sections supplied with the Xtracks package - but there's not much stock available to run on it.
If you want to run 2' Gauge trains, you can use the UKNG sections from UKTS file ID 1819 - they're still a bit buggy, but work, and are compatible with XTracks Tsection files. There's an increasing amount of stuff available to run on this track, too.
Hope this helps
