So when did the first no.7 ( the 4-2-0 ) arrive?

I think that was 1952, it lasted about a year before the PW Trolley came in and replaced it! Its all a bit hazy really, we had so many different engines arrivign and going that it is hard to keep track!

Was Russel there for a bit? ( Sorry for asking all this but you work there and I'm really interested in the history of the line! )

Yes Russel also sat on display at Wharf for a time in the 1960's when it had been retiered from work but hadnt been bought by the WHR 1964 Co. (Porthmadog End) It of course never ran on the line due to its gauge of 2ft.... It was one of a number of exhibits which later formed the Narrow Gauge Railway Museum. Also in that were things like the Manning Wardle 'Jubilee 1897' and the port class hunslet 'Rough Pup.'

Chris, what job do you have on the line? Are you a volunteer, or a ticket collecter, etc?

I am a volunteer cleaner! Have been on the engines now for a couple of years and am hoping to make it to passed cleaner this year! Also have done a fair bit of trackwork and some engineering on and off. Thats why I know a reasonably large amount about the loco side of things, can be amusing when you know more than your driver, but likewise as some of the Drivers have been around since the 50's they are a mine of stories and facts about how the railway was!
Thats also why I like doing reskins aswell, although they are easy, i have livery details for all of the TR schemes, including the 4 versions of No.4 as it was on the TR (5 if you include the first TR green which wasnt the same as the later TR green!) Was at one point considering doing No.2 in Maroon as Pretoria but thought against it as it wasnt much differnet from the green version!!!

Yes the picture is of Charlies Ant! Quarry Siding looks a bit different aswell! Note the absence of ballast on the track and no passing loop or blockpost!

May i ask what Pertoria is/was as I may consider reskinning Dolgoch into it.

Pretoria was the name carried by Dolgoch between 1903 and 1909, it was in for a repaint and it was thought apt to rename the loco after the British Victory in the Boer War!
I have already done a reskin of the loco in this livery, however it was too similar to the original Talyllyn livery to warrant an upload. it was thought that 2 was painted Maroon, from a contempary postacrad of the time which depicted No.2 in Maroon, however this was one that had been hand painted by the photographer and the inscrpription on the back declares that the loco was 'GREEN.'
As a result I did not upload. rwaceyw if there is demand and Kevin agress I could upload the model, however I do not really see the point.

If I have time tonight I shall dig it out and send you a screen shot, the loco looks rather odd in Maroon thought, and doesnt really suit the coaching stock!
