Can I just make a simple (and possibly quite silly) point or two:

1: This is a narrow gauge forum
2: This is a Skarloey Railway topic

Now I don't mind talk of Skarloey Railway things, far from it, as has been seen I have even taken part in some of them.

However....

The topic has basically been hijacked for what is basically in-play-fighting between rwaceyw and sillyevan27, over niggling details regarding the Standard Gauge rails of Sodor (if we're lucky - if not, just stupid joke-quibbling). This is for Skarloey talk, not Thomas talk, let alone Elephants (I don't think Duke could haul 'em)

I know you guys are in no way serious about this, but to be honest there have been no proper Narrow Gauge posts in here since the two of you started throwing insults at each other - whether this is because there is really nothing to discuss or what, I don't know, but as a keen Narrow Gauge enthusiast it rather narks me that I keep on coming back, day after day, just to find that the only addition to the forum is another 15 odd non-messages that could be done privately between the two of you.

Sorry if this offends you in any way, but please, please, please could you either stop, or at least take it to private messages.

Cheers,

John

Is Thomasthetank planning the old part of the narrow gauge where Duke, Stuart and Falcon worked. Its a sort of Corris railway as Stuart and Falcon went to the Skarloey railway which is based on the Talylln, (spelt wrong)

I thought the line where Duke and Falcon and Stuart worked was based partly on the Festiniog aswell? When they come out of the tunnel when Falcon comes off the line it is similar to Molewyn or Garnedd?? On the Festiniog and I thought that the emabnakment they fall off is also similar to something like the Festiniog's Rhiw Goch? Although I guess there is a flavour of the Corris. (And Stuart and Falcon were Corris engines) Duke is of course Prince. The engine that gets locked out behind the shed is similar to Isle of Man Prcatice of powering the workshop off an engine that was in steam using the . in front of the dome of the engine.

DUKE DOESN'T RUN ON THE CORRIS!!!!!

ARGH!!!
Duke's line incorperates all 3 lines, I think.
The Talyllyn, the Corris, and the Ffest...I can't remember...
(Boy they come up with hard names for the rlys in the UK)

But wouldn't it be hard to build it or actually run engines on Dukes Line?? In msts that is...
There are some quite big hills on the line and I don't think that the enignes can make it up such grades.
It would be easier to come up with the Culdee Fell Mountain Rly insted. To go with Mike's engines of coarse.....

i have ways and means of sorting that problem aka doing it in a gradual slope bit by bit instead of a completely diagonal slope

Lol, the Skarloey Railway was based on the Talyllyn... Dukes Railway was based on the Corris and the Ffes....

Duke can work on the Corris because it is a book!!! In the same respect he couldnt work on the Talyllyn could he! However as it is a book he is able to.

Just to be pedantic there is also only one F in Festiniog Rly!
