Bin Patch 1.7.013
If anyone is holding back from using this, I've been running it for most of today on bin activities for Great Eastern, and I haven't discovered any problems so far.
Flipped steam locos definitely work now - just had a little play on Coals to Newcastle 6.
And my Activity Editor runs in 32 bit colour on 1280 x 1040 with many views open.

My railway photos are now on Google + - links to the albums are in this thread http://forums.uktrainsim.com/viewtopic. ... 9&t=149558
Lots of steam and early diesels from 1959 to 1963.

Now, if only it could fix the "Number of wav files (number)is greater than 16", I know that's not exact, but I can't remember the text off the top of my head, but it'd be good if MSTS could be stopped from complaining about this (since it runs perfectly fine and as intended if you hit yes, but we all know how much MSTS *loves* switching to the desktop to display an error mid-way through loading a route)

Hi
Why? What errors are you getting? Also, did you unistall the previous bin patch version first?
Cheers

Not turned up anything on the search for that, so if anyone can point me in the right direction I'd be very gratefullongbow wrote:IIRC, Stuart Williamson solved that problem years ago with a simple manual edit of the MSTS settings - try a search of the Sounds forum. I've never had that error message.

if that's in reference to the sound error I mentioned, then that's the wrong problem altogether in that link, I've actually sat and stepped page by page through the sound forum as a wholeand done searches and not yet managed to find the solution. It's got nothing to do with the number of sounds playing simultaneously etc.mikesimpson wrote:Hi Stuart,

EDIT:
Here infact, is the error in question:

Thanks for this post Otto, I've now successfully got it installedOTTODAD wrote:MSTSBin 1.6 can not be installed again if there is still a previous version of it installed and the MSTSBIN_BACKUP folder has not been removed by the MSTSBin Uninst_MSTS Patch*.exe and the Version 1.2 (1.4) December 2001 Train.exe is not present in the Train Simulator folder !

There is a hardcoded limit of 16 .wav files per trigger statement. The error you are getting is because someone has included 25. Why the writer of such an sms has not realised this when testing it out is hard to understand.
Are you running the sim with the -soundtest command switch? I thought you only got .wav errors with this enabled. Either way try the -testnosound switch as I think this might stop all sound related errors.
Maybe this 16 limit is a change George can make. Have you posted about it on the Bin website?
Stuart
Could be a soundcfg.dat related problem ?
Try mine (as below): http://www.otto-wipfel.co.uk/downloads/soundcfg-dat.zip
and if it still causes problems then try reducing the last value in all the <<<< lines to 0 - ZERO, forcing MSTS to allocate that memory dynamically !

Can anybody give me a download link to an item of rolling stock which causes this error message so that I can test in on my computer's MSTS ?
I have a UP-9000 steam loco, which in it's Cab.sms has a
section using 32 *.wav files, 29 of which are unique, not causing any problems running it in any route !
