Hi guys,
Already have DOUCEFRANCE v1.3 and it is a fantastic route.
Not sure what I am looking at on the web site. there are 2, v1.3,,
Is the 1.3v on the right an upgrade or the complete 1008 route ?
Looks like a big download, but worth it .

Hi Ross
You need the three patch files on the left.

Has anyone else tried installing this yet - when I extract the update file DOUCEFRANCE_2008_Patch.part2.rar I get a CRC warning that two files are broken - Textures\ACTransherbefonce.ace and Textures\Snow\acgdlaccuiel.ace. Those files aren't in the 1.3 installation, so I am about to download the full install and see if I can find them in there.

EDIT

That worked - I've copied those two textures from the full install archives.

However, be aware that you will need to download DouceFrance_2008-DOC as for some reason that includes the .trk file that isn't in the update files, and extracting that is a bit confusing. The archive contains two folders DOUCEFRANCE_2008 and DOUCEFRANCE_2008-DOC with no instructions as to what to do with them. The second one has a Word file in the Documents folder, the first doesn't. I copied the second folder into the temporary update folder before intallation, but copying it into the Doucefrance_2008 folder after installation should work - I think.

EDIT 2

Step 6 of the DOUCEFRANCE_2008_Installation.txt file for the Upgrade version suggests compacting the route with Routeriter - this is not possible as there is no .ref file. You will be able to check it with Routeriter, which I have done, producing this error report:

WARNING - THE FOLLOWING FILES ARE MISSING FROM YOUR ROUTE - IT MAY NOT WORK WITHOUT THEM

d:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Train Simulator\Routes\DOUCEFRANCE_2008\DouceFrance_2008.rit is missing from this route (If the route has no roads, then this does not matter)
d:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Train Simulator\Routes\DOUCEFRANCE_2008\DouceFrance_2008.tit is missing from this route

Texture file snow\acchariotplateau2.ace was missing from your route, an alternative was used instead - d:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Train Simulator\Routes\Vivarais\Textures\snow\acchariotplateau2.ace
Texture file snow\acchariotroue2.ace was missing from your route, an alternative was used instead - d:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Train Simulator\Routes\Vivarais\Textures\snow\acchariotroue2.ace
Texture file snow\acchariotplateau.ace was missing from your route, an alternative was used instead - d:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Train Simulator\Routes\Vivarais\Textures\snow\acchariotplateau.ace
Texture file snow\cabtelecom.ace was missing from your route, an alternative was used instead - d:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Train Simulator\Routes\LigneGrandEst-V1\Textures\snow\cabtelecom.ace
Texture file snow\acvoutin.ace was missing from your route, an alternative was used instead - d:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Train Simulator\Routes\LDM-V3\Textures\snow\acvoutin.ace
Texture file snow\acpontmetal02.ace was missing from your route, an alternative was used instead - d:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Train Simulator\Routes\LDM-V3\Textures\snow\acpontmetal02.ace
Texture file snow\remise.ace was missing from your route, an alternative was used instead - d:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Train Simulator\Routes\Charentes Limousin\Textures\snow\remise.ace

ERRORS WERE NOTED, DO NOT COMPACT ROUTE UNTIL ANY MISSING FILES ARE REPLACED.

I've checked the full install, and the .rit and .tit files aren't in there either.

The first activity starts OK, so it looks like everything has installed correctly.

Hi Ross

You will find the track database (.trk) file in the Documents download - if you move that into the newly created DouceFrance_2008 folder it might work - I'd recommend checking with Routeriter.

Thanks Alan,
reading your post I had already done that with the .trk file, but still no way, no thank you.
I have not worked out how to use Routeriter yet, maybe try the complete download.
Have installed Xtracks and Newroads, and ran the update and install.bat...

Hi all,
I downloaded the files on the right as I did not have the earlier version .Also I downloaded the docs file and the X4200_panoramique,X4208_MAJ1_1 files.
I unzipped all the files and copied the activities, paths ,ect files and the DouceFrance_2008.trk file from the Docs file into the Route.
Also the consist file and the X4200_panoramique train into the trainset folder.
The Route ran first time no problems .
You need the latest Xtracks and Tsection files installed.
Hope this helps.

Hi Michael

I've run the route without them - I don't think copying from another route would have the desired effect.

Hi Alan,

Many thanks for your reply I've given act 1 a go and so far all seems ok. I had no probs down loading the rooute and it was just a straight forward copying the track fils from the doc's folder.

I don't think so Jon - aren't they specific to each route?

Hi guys,
Almost have DOUCEFRANCE 2008 running...
It's arcing up over a file ' A1t0_2mStrt.s ' , Says ' No extended shape ' ,it then drops out to a black screen after a while.
Sounds like Newroads 4 but have installed that and then the shadows part, just incase.
and Xtree2, Searched the hard drive for a file of that name but no such file found.
a bit weird, Regards Ross

Just wanted to say a big thankyou to all concerned with Doucefrance 2008.

An excellent piece of work - the attention to detail is brilliant, and the overall impression of rural France is perfect.

Best wishes to all

Pete W

P.S. The animated passengers are a revelation - it never happened to me on a train!
