Go here: http://www.furka-bergstrecke.ch/eng/ for further information. Look at the pictures on the 'Travel Report' section and weep at the gradients - no, it is not simply camera distortion! I wonder if the Steffenbach Bridge will be animated?

Hi,
I hate heights. I even get sick if I wear a thick pair of woollen socks. You would have to pay me a seriously a lot on money to travel on one of these mountain routes.

@mccormakcpj

The Steffenbach bridge will not be animated - it is only erected and dismantled at the end of every season, which cannot be modelled in MSTS. Unlike FS there are no(t yet) any date-dependant animation triggers, maybe a later Bin-Patch would enable this to happen.

Here's a sketch comparison of the layout of the Realp depot (prototype, with turntable) and how I want to model it in MSTS, using turnouts instead:

....and here it is:

Ah well, it wasn't a 100% serious suggestion after all :)

Since June I've been busy with a rake of other projects - Rheingold coaches for GR, Eurofima Freeware and my Gotthard project have taken priority, but I'm finally able to show some progress with the narrow gauge steam locos for this route - here's a first look at the HG 3/4 in progress:

..... and a couple of screens of the completed Steffenbach bridge:
