In search of a Formula

Getting the physics right is essential for the simulation, having an 0-6-0 tank engine with the hauling power of a Class 66 just ruins the fun!

In search of a Formula

Post by Breedlings »

In an attempt to get realistic brakes from some stock I'm working on I've been reading the documentation on the RGS website and seem to have gleaned most of the stuff I want.

http://www.rgsonline.co.uk/docushare/ds ... Rt2040.pdf

I'm left with one query which I'm hoping someone can help me out with. In section 5.3.1 it states "The break retarding force can be derived from design data ... " yet doesn't give a clue how this is done. Unfortunately this value is required to feed into the formula to calculate the brake force of the vehicle.

Anyone got any ideas?
