Problem with all my .dat files in MSTS

I recently made the mistake of right clicking on a .dat file and then 'open with' windows media. Now all my .dat files in MSTS has become media files. I want to install the transparent cabaids, but I cannot now open any of the .dat files properly. Can someone tell me how to get the files back to what they should be. Many thanks.

Select a DAT, press shift while you right-click - you will then get "open with" again where you can choose another program - I presume you want to use wordpad ?

But if you don't want to edit the files, it doesn't matter what the default application is! The icon is just an icon! All my DAT files are associated with WMP!
