PLEASE HELP ME WITH LOCO SOUNDS!!

Hi All,
I have recorded a loco sound track off a video that I had taken a few years back and have split the track into 8 different files (Notch 1, Notch 2, Notch 3 etc) and saved it into a folder and put the folder in 'TRAIN SET.'
I next took NOTCH 1 and NOTCH 8 files and re-named them the exact same as the previous 2 sound files that I had replaced and saved them into the loco sounds file.
Now I downloaded some sound files off the internet and saved them into TRAINSET and copied the 2 sound files and replaced them with the 2 orniginal files for the interor cab sound. They worked perfectly.
However my sound files were for the outside of the locomotive. When I go 'outside' there is no sound of the engine what-so-ever. I checked and have re-formatted the files into WAV as all the other files were in that format. My files were previously in MP3 format.
Any help would be GREATFULLY apprecated indeed, as I am only just starting out into loco sound files and this is my first one....
